LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 43 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases in the country to 165,852.
But out of the 165,852 confirmed cases, 156,456 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,067 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7329 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-19, Rivers-14, Kastina-5, Jigawa-3, Kano-1 and Oyo-1, making a total of 43 new cases. “NCDC@NCDC gov 43 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-19, Rivers-14, Kastina-5, Jigawa-3, Kano-1 and Oyo-1: 165,852 confirmed; 156,456 discharged; 2,067 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.
There are now 164, 442,317 all time confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 3,408, 919 patients have passed on while 1, 534, 560, 227 doses of vaccines have been administered worldwide based on recent updates from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 33, 019, 819 all time cases, while 587,743 patients have passed on(26, 149 new and 584 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 25,496, 330 all time cases, while 283, 248 patients have lost their lives as a result of the pandemic(267,334 new and 4, 529 deaths*) and Brazil which has registered 15, 732, 836 all time infections, while 439, 050 patients have lost their lives to the pandemic(75, 445 new 2513 deaths*).
France remains the 4th country most afflicted, now reporting 5, 978, 643 all time cases, while 108, 342 others have been killed by the pandemic(19,063 new and 141 deaths*), followed by Turkey which has confirmed 5, 151, 038 all time infections, while 45, 419 patients are now dead(11, 553 new and 233 deaths*) and Russia which has reported 4, 908, 794 confirmations, while 115, 003 patients have lost their lives to the Coronavirus pandemic(7799 new and 384 deaths*).
The United Kingdom comes next as the 7th country most afflicted and has documented 4, 468, 355 cases, while 127, 956 patients are already dead(2137 new and 3 deaths*), followed by Italy with 4, 172, 525 all time cases, while 124, 646 patients are no more(5500 new and 149 deaths*) and Germany which has reported 3, 627, 750 confirmed cases, while 86, 749 patients have been killed by the virus(11, 880 new and 235 deaths*).
Spain has been pushed down as the 10th country most hit, reporting 3, 625, 928 all time cases, while 79, 568 patients have been killed(6080 new and 66 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported 1, 621, 362 all time cases, while 55, 507 patients are no more(3522 new and 167 deaths*).
