LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 49 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 165,468. But out of the 165,468 confirmed cases,  156,318 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,065 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7085 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, FCT-27, Lagos-11, Enugu-8 and Oyo-3, making a total of 49 new cases of Coronavirus.  “NCDC @NCDC gov 49 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; FCT-27, Lagos-11, Enugu-8 and Oyo-3; 165,468 confirmed; 156,318 discharged; 2,065 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

There are now 158, 517, 386 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 3, 296, 686  lives are no more, while 94, 560, 172 others have recovered  and therefore discharged. The world is now left with 60, 660,  528 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 32, 732, 189  all time cases,  while 582, 037 patients have lost their lives(27, 592 new and 296 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 22, 662, 575  total cases, 246, 116  lives are no more, while 18, 671, 222 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 3, 745, 237 active cases of Coronavirus(366, 161 new and 3754 deaths*)  and Brazil which has documented 15, 184, 790  all time infections, 422, 340 deaths and 13, 463, 515   recoveries, leaving Brazil with 1, 298, 935 active cases of Coronavirus.

France remains the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 5, 841, 586 all time infections, 106, 845 residents have passed on while 372, 400 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving  France with 5, 734, 741 active cases of Coronavirus(3292 new and 292 deaths*), followed by Turkey  now reporting  5, 044, 936  confirmed cases,  43, 311 patients are no more, while 4, 743, 871 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Turkey with  (13, 604 new cases and  282 deaths*) and Russia which has documented 4, 832, 959  all time cases, 111, 740 patients have passed on while 4, 451,443 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 269, 776 active cases of Coronavirus(8338 new and 315 deaths*).

The United Kingdom has come up as the 7th country most afflicted, now reporting 4, 452, 935  all time infections, 127, 869  lives have been lost to the pandemic, while 15, 011 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 310, 055 active cases of Coronavirus(2357 new and 4 deaths*) and Italy, which has documented 4, 116, 287  all time cases, 123, 031 patients are no more, while 3, 619,586 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Italy with 373, 670 active cases of Coronavirus(5,077 new 198 deaths*) and  Spain which has reported 3, 581,392  all time cases, 78, 895 patients are no more, while 150, 376 others have recovered, leaving Spain with 3, 352, 121 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 984 new and 103 deaths*).

Germany is the 10th country most afflicted, reporting 3, 538, 173 confirmations, 84, 907 deaths and 3, 188, 710 recoveries, leaving Germany with 264, 556 current cases of Coronavirus(7286 new and 111 deaths*) and South Africa,  which has reported 1, 596, 595  all time infections, 54, 735 lives have been lost while 1, 516, 256 others have been granted clean bill of health, leaving South Africa with 25, 604 active cases of Coronavirus.
