Coronavirus kills 3, 869 patients in Brazil as Nigeria reports 106 new cases

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 106 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 162,997. But out of the 162,997 confirmed cases, 151,708  patients have been treated and discharged, while  2,058 others have recovered. Nigeria is now left with 9,231 active cases of Coronavirus while 1 patient passed on in the last 24 hours.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-33, FCT-20, Cross River-11, Rivers-11, Kaduna-7, Edo-6, Ondo-6, Nasarawa-3, Ogun-3, Kano-2, Bauchi-2 and Osun-2, making a total of 106 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 129, 317, 945 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 821, 367 deaths and 73, 313, 131 recoveries, based on the latest reports from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland. There are now 53, 183, 447 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide.

According to the centre, the United States remains the  most afflicted, now reporting 30, 524, 552 confirmed cases, while 553, 042 patients have lost their lives(72, 494 new and 1179 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has registered 12, 748, 747 all time cases, 321, 515  patients are no more, while 11, 233, 675 others have  recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Brazil with 1, 193, 557 active cases of Coronavirus(90,638 new and 3, 869 deaths*) and India which has documented 12, 221,665 all time infections, 162, 927 patients have given up the ghost while 11, 474,683 others have recovered, leaving India with 584, 055 active cases of Coronavirus(72, 330 new and 459 deaths*).

France is the 4th country most affected by the pandemic, now reporting 4, 755, 733 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 96, 106  patients are already dead, while 302, 995 others have survived the pandemic and have been discharged, leaving France with 4, 356,632 active cases of the pandemic(50, 670 new and 308 deaths*) , followed by Russia which has reported 4, 503, 921  confirmations, 97, 594  patients have been killed by the virus while 4, 128, 769 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 277, 558 active cases of Coronavirus(9687 new and 375 deaths*) and the United Kingdom which has reported 4, 364, 464 confirmed cases, 127,006 deaths, while 13, 075 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 224, 383 active cases of Coronavirus(4543 new cases and 51 deaths*).

Italy has remained as the 7th country most affected with 3, 607, 083  all time cases, 109, 847  patients are no more, while 2, 933, 757 others have  survived and therefore discharged, leaving Italy with 563, 479 active cases of Coronavirus(22, 184 new and 501 deaths*) followed by Turkey which has documented 3, 357, 988 confirmations,  31, 713 patients have kicked the bucket while 3, 035, 043 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 291, 232 active cases of Coronavirus(40, 806 new and 176 deaths*) and Spain which has confirmed 2, 391, 394 all time infections, 75, 541 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 165, 477 active cases of Coronavirus(73, 635 new and 82 deaths*).

Germany remains the 10th country worst hit by the pandemic with 2, 853, 258 all time cases, 76, 681 patients are no more, while 2, 540, 530 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Germany with 236, 047 active cases of Coronavirus(24, 050 new and 222 deaths*) and South Africa(17) in the rank of countries worst hit by the Coronavirus pandemic. South Africa has registered 1, 549, 451 confirmations, 52, 897 deaths and 1, 474,826 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 21, 728 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 04 deaths *).
