LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 71 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 163,652. But of the 163,652 confirmed cases, 154,073 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,059 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7520 active cases while 1 patient died in the last 24 hours.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-24, Yobe-13, Rivers-9, Akwa Ibom-6, FCT-6, Kano-6, Osun-3, Delta-2, Jigawa-1 and Plateau-1, making a total of 71 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 134, 322, 229 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 908, 190 patients are no more, while 76,345,268 others have recovered. There are now 55, 068, 771 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 31, 067, 338 confirmations while 560, 946 patients have lost their lives(78, 201 new and 959 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has documented 13, 279, 857 confirmed cases, 345, 025 deaths, while 11, 696, 473 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Brazil with 1, 238, 359 active cases of Coronavirus(86, 652 new and 4249 deaths*) and India which has reported 13, 060, 542 all time cases, 167, 642 patients have passed on while 11, 913, 292 others have survived the pandemic, leaving India with 979, 608 active cases of Coronavirus(131, 968 new and 780 deaths*).
France has come up as the 4th country most affected with 5,000,309 confirmed cases, 98, 202 patients are no more, while 312, 540 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 4, 589, 567 active cases of Coronavirus(290 new and 6 deaths*), followed by Russia with 4, 572,053 confirmed cases, 100, 554 patients are already dead, while 4, 200, 282 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 271, 217 active cases of Coronavirus(9027 new and 396 deaths*) and the United Kingdom which has reported 4, 380, 166 confirmed cases, 127, 284 patients are no more, while 13, 467 others are now hale and hearty, leaving the United Kingdom with 4, 239, 415 active cases of Coronavirus(60 deaths*).
Turkey has come up as the 7th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 3, 745, 657 all time infections, 33, 454 patients have kicked the bucket with 3, 268, 678 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Turkey with 443, 525 active cases of Coronavirus(55, 791 new and 253 deaths*) and Italy which has documented 3, 736, 526 confirmations, 113, 579 lives have been lost, while 3, 086, 586 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Italy with 536, 361 active cases of Coronavirus(18, 924 new and 718 deaths*) and Spain with 3, 347, 512 all time cases, 76, 328 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, leaving Spain with 3, 120, 808 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 875 new and 149 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, now reporting 2, 977, 230 all time cases, 78, 165 patients are no more, 2, 654, 930 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Germany with 244, 135 active cases of Coronavirus (25, 401 new and 270 deaths*) and South Africa, which has registered 1, 554, 975 confirmed cases, 53, 226 deaths and 1, 481,637 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 20, 112 active cases of Coronavirus.(1366 new and 53 deaths*)
