ABUJA, Nigeria – The Director General (DG) of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), Alhaji Nura Sani Kangiwa has pledged the commitment of his management to support SERVICOM in the effective service delivery of the core mandate of the Institute.According to a press release by Mr. Ahmed Sule, Director of Media and Public Relations in the tourism institute, Kangiwa made the pledge during the inauguration of the NIHOTOUR Unit of Service Compact with all Nigerians.
He said SERVICOM remains a critical value chain in the effective and efficient service delivery that meets the yearnings and aspirations of the Nigerian citizens.The DG noted that the people deserve better quality service which SERVICOM was meant to mitigate in fulfilling the compact government has with the people. He said the onus is on all MDAs as public institutions to ensure that people get the best of service they deserve from all segments of governance as a way to better the lives and living conditions of the Nigerian people.
He added that all hands must be on deck to carry out the mandate of NIHOTOUR as the apex public Travel Tourism and Hospitality training Institute in the country to move the industry to the next level. Performing the inauguration of the newly constituted members of the NIHOTOUR SERVICOM Unit, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of SERVICOM, applauded the management of NIHOTOUR under Alhaji Kangiwa for reviving and strengthening the hitherto moribund Unit in the Institute.
Mrs. Akajemeli said Kangiwa’s action has shown that he recognise the efficacy of SERVICOM as a critical value chain in effective service delivery by government agencies and institutions. She noted that SERVICOM is an important value chain in ensuring that MDAs give quality services that the people deserve as well as make the people demand the best services they need and expect from government via mitigations that ensure the best for government and the governed in balancing a healthy relationship that promotes harmony. The National Coordinator called on the members sworn in as touch bearers of SERVICOM in NIHOTOUR to live above board in ensuring that the Institute gives the best service delivery to its customers in line with its core mandate and to the satisfaction of the benefiting populace.
