LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 120 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 164,423. But out of the 164,423 confirmed cases, 154,406 patients have been treated and discharged; while 2,061 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7956 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Enugu-53, Lagos-22, Rivers-18, Ogun-8, FCT-7, Abia-6, Kano-5 and Bauchi-1, making a total of 120 new cases of Coronavirus.

“NCDC@NCDCgov 120 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Enugu-53, Lagos-22, Rivers-18, Ogun-8, FCT-7, Abia-6, Kano-5 and Bauchi-1; 164,423 confirmed; 154,406 discharged; 2,061 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

There are now over 142, 468, 444 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 3, 035, 844  patients are already dead, while 81, 617, 010  others have recovered. The world is now left with 57, 815,  590 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 31, 779, 242 all time infections while 568,284 others have been killed by the pandemic(51, 409 new and 635 deaths*), followed by India with  15, 321,089 all time cases, 180, 530 lives have been lost while 13, 108, 582 others have been treated and  discharged, leaving India with 2, 031, 977 active cases of Coronavirus(259, 170 new and 1761 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 13, 973, 695 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 374, 682 lives have been destroyed by the pandemic, while 12, 390, 719 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Brazil with 1, 208, 294  active cases of Coronavirus(30, 624 new and 1347 deaths*).

France has come up as the 4th country worst hit, reporting 5, 401, 293 all time infections, 101, 713 lives have been lost to the virus, while 330,790 others have recovered, leaving France with 4, 968, 790 active cases of Coronavirus(44,076 new and 374 deaths*), followed by Russia which has reported 4, 665, 553  confirmations, 104, 545 patients are already dead while 4, 293, 866 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Russia with 267, 142 active cases of Coronavirus(8044 new and 372 deaths*) and  the United Kingdom which has registered 4, 408, 638 all time cases, 127, 557 patients are already dead, while 14, 040  others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 267, 041  active cases of Coronavirus(2615 new and 35 deaths*).

Turkey has remained the 7th country most hit by the pandemic, reporting 4, 384, 624  confirmed cases,  36, 613 patients are no more, while 3, 792, 129 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Turkey with 555,882 active cases of Coronavirus(61,028 new and 346 deaths*), followed by  Italy which has reported 3, 891, 063  confirmed cases, 117, 633 lives have been lost, while 3, 290, 715 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 482, 715 active cases of Coronavirus(12,069 new and 390 deaths*) and Spain with 3, 428, 354 all time cases,  77, 102 lives have been lost, while 150, 376 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 3, 200, 876 active cases of Coronavirus.

Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting 3, 182, 951 all time cases,  80, 469 lives have been lost while 2, 813, 380 others  are now hale and hearty, leaving Germany with 289, 102 active cases of Coronavirus(21, 306 new and 316 deaths*) and South Africa(20) which has documented 1, 568, 366  confirmed cases, 53, 887 deaths and 1, 494, 630  recoveries, leaving South Africa with 19, 849 active cases of Coronavirus(853 new and 130  deaths*).
