LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 37 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 164,756.

 

But out of the 164,756 confirmed cases, 154,963 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,062  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7731 active cases of Coronavirus.

 

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-26,  Ogun-4, Kaduna-2,  Rivers-2, Kwara-2, Edo-1, making a total of 37 new cases of Coronavirus in the country.

 

“NCDC@NCDCgov 37 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-26,  Ogun-4, Kaduna-2,  Rivers-2, Kwara-2, Edo-1; 164,756 confirmed; 154,963 discharged; 2,062 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

 

On the global scene, there are currently 147, 513,016 confirmed cases of Coronavirus,  3, 115, 828 lives are no more, while 85, 173, 204 others have recovered and therefore discharged. There are now 59, 223, 984 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic based on the latest update from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

 

According to the Centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country worldwide, reporting 32, 119, 748  confirmed cases, while 572, 625 patients have been killed by the pandemic( 46, 325 new and 433 deaths*), followed by India which has confirmed  17, 313, 163  total cases,  195, 123 patients have passed on while 14, 304, 382  others have been given clean bill of health, leaving India with 2, 813, 658  active cases of Coronavirus(352, 991 new and  1812 deaths*)and Brazil which has reported 14, 369, 423 confirmations,  391, 936 patients are no more, while  12, 640, 871 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Brazil with 1, 336, 616 active cases of Coronavirus(61, 208 new cases and 2444 deaths*).

 

France remains the 4th country most hit by the pandemic with 5, 565, 075 confirmations, 103, 415 patients are already dead, while 339, 392 others have survived, leaving France with 5, 122, 268 active cases of Coronavirus(5954 new and 398 deaths*), followed by Russia with 4, 717, 321 all time cases, 106, 783 patients are no more alive, while 4, 344,735 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 265, 803 active cases of Coronavirus(8681 new and 349 deaths*) and Turkey which has reported 4, 667, 281 confirmed cases,  38, 711 deaths and  4, 121, 671  recoveries, leaving Turkey with 509, 899 active cases of Coronavirus(37, 312 new and 353 deaths*).

 

The United Kingdom is the 7th country most hit, reporting 4, 422, 532  confirmations, 127,687 patients are no more, while  14, 464  others have  recovered, leaving  the UK with 4, 280, 381  active cases of Coronavirus(2089 new and 6 deaths*) , followed by  Italy which has documented  3, 971,114  confirmations,  119, 539  patients  have been killed by the pandemic, while 3, 398, 763 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Italy with 452, 812 active cases of Coronavirus(8440 new and 301 deaths*) and Spain which has documented 3, 488, 469  confirmed cases,  77, 738 lives have been lost while 150, 376 others have survived, leaving Spain with 3, 260, 355  active cases of Coronavirus(19, 852 new and 157 deaths*).

 

Germany remains the 10th country most hit, now reporting 3, 312, 653 confirmed cases, 81, 786 patients have passed on while 2, 921,400 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 309, 467 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 045 new and 161 deaths*)  and South Africa, which has registered 1, 576, 320 confirmed cases,  54, 186 patients have lost their lives, while 1, 501, 880 others have survived, leaving South Africa with 20, 254 active cases of Coronavirus(849 new and 38 deaths*) .
