LAGOS – Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 62 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 165,055. Out of the 165,055 confirmed cases, 155,041 patients have been treated and discharged while 2,063 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7951 active cases of Coronavirus.

 

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-38, Kaduna-6, Ondo-6, Ogun-3, Akwa Ibom-2, FCT-,2 Rivers-2, Edo-1, Kano-1  and Oyo-1, making a total of 62 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 150, 068, 372 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 3, 156, 408 patients are already dead, while 87, 129, 309 others have recovered and therefore discharged. The world is now left with 59, 782, 655 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country globally, reporting 32, 280,014 all time cases, while 575,024 patients have been killed by the pandemic(65, 632 new and 869 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 18, 376, 524 confirmations, 204, 832 deaths and 15,086, 878  recoveries, leaving India with 3, 084, 814 active cases of Coronavirus(379, 257 new and 3645 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 14, 521, 289  all time infections, 398, 185 lives have been lost, while 12, 887, 661 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 1, 235, 443 active cases of Coronavirus(79, 726 new and 3163 deaths*).

France has come up as the 4th country most hit, reporting  5, 653, 524 all time infections, 104, 385 lives have been lost while 344, 830 others  have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving France with 5, 204, 309 active cases of Coronavirus(26, 582 new and 308 deaths*), followed by Turkey with 4, 788, 700 confirmed cases, 39, 737 deaths and 4, 255, 714 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 493, 249  active cases of Coronavirus(37, 674 new 339 deaths*) and Russia which has registered 4, 742, 142  all time infections, 107, 902 patients are already dead, while 4, 369, 214 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Russia with 265, 036 active cases of Coronavirus(9161 new and 355*).

The United Kingdom has come up as the 7th country most hit, reporting  4, 429, 841  confirmations, 127, 756 lives have been lost, while 14, 621 others have recovered, leaving the UK with 4, 287, 464 active cases of Coronavirus(2413 new and 22 deaths*) and Italy with 4,009, 208 confirmed cases,  120, 544 lives are dead already, while 3, 449, 955 others have recovered, leaving Italy with 438, 709 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 314 new and 288 deaths*) and Spain which has documented 3, 514, 942  all time cases,  78, 080 patients have passed on while  150, 376 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Spain with 3, 286, 486 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 143 new and 137 deaths*).

 

Germany has come up as the 10th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 3, 376, 918  all time cases,  82,657 deaths and 2, 987, 910 recoveries, leaving Germany with 306, 351 active cases of Coronavirus(25, 904 new and 262 deaths*) and South Africa which has registered 1, 579,  536 all time cases,  54, 331 lives have been lost to the pandemic, while 1, 504, 426 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 20, 779 active cases of Coronavirus(2336 new and 94 deaths*).
