LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) has confirmed 60 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic in the country, bringing all time cases to 164,207. 

But out of the 164,207 confirmed cases,  154,325 patients have been treated and  discharged, while 2,061 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7821 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-22, Rivers-15, Bayelsa-7, Kaduna-5, Ogun-4, Akwa Ibom-3, Osun-2, Kano-1 and Ebonyi-1, making a total of 60 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now over 140 million cases of Coronavirus worldwide just as total death toll has crossed the 3 million mark. Specifically, there are now 140, 286, 228  confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, while  3, 004,312  patients have  been killed by the virus, while  79, 954, 001 others have survived. There are now 57, 327, 915 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country, reporting  31, 618, 578  confirmed cases while 566,863  patients have been killed by the virus(55, 032 new and 775 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 14, 526, 609  confirmations,  175, 649 patients are already dead, while 12, 671, 220 others have recovered, leaving India with 1, 679, 740 active cases of Coronavirus(234, 692 new and 1341 deaths*), followed by  Brazil which has registered 13,  832, 455 all time cases, 368, 749 deaths and 12, 185, 185 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 1, 278, 521 active cases of Coronavirus(85,774 new and  3305 deaths*).

France has come up as the 4th country most affected with  5, 321, 168 confirmed cases, 100, 752 patients have died, while  327, 104 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 4, 893, 312  active cases of Coronavirus(35, 872 new and 189 deaths*), followed by Russia which has registered  4, 640, 537 all time cases, 103, 451 lives have been lost to the pandemic, while 4, 270,234 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 266, 852 active cases of Coronavirus(9201 new 392 deaths*) and the United Kingdom which has reported 4, 401,113   confirmed cases, 127,507 patients are already dead, while  13,940  others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 259, 666 active cases of Coronavirus(2251 new and 35 deaths*).

Turkey has come up as the 7th country worst hit, reporting 4, 212, 645   all time infections,  35, 608   patients have passed on while  3, 643, 734  others have recovered, leaving Turkey with  533, 303 active cases of Coronavirus(62, 606 new and  288 deaths*), followed by Italy with 3, 857, 443 confirmations, 116, 676 deaths and  3, 235,459  recoveries, leaving Italy with 505, 308 active cases of Coronavirus(15, 364 new and 310 deaths*) and Spain which has reported  3, 407, 283 confirmed cases,  76, 981 patients have passed on while 150, 376 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Spain with 3, 179, 926 active cases of Coronavirus.

Germany has come up as the 10th country most hit by the pandemic, now reporting 3, 139,588  confirmations,  79, 910 patients have given up the ghost, while 2, 775, 520 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Germany with 284, 158 active cases of Coronavirus(19, 572 new and 148 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported  1, 564, 355  confirmed cases, 53, 711 patients are no more while  1, 489, 457 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 21, 187 active cases of Coronavirus(48 deaths*).
