LAGOS- The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 58 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases to 163,388. But out of the 163,388 confirmed cases,  153,630 patients have been treated and discharged, while  2,058 could not make it alive. Nigeria is now left with 7,700 active cases.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-32 ,Kaduna-5, Enugu-4, Kano-4, Edo-3, FCT-3, Osun-3, Abia-1, Bauchi-1, Gombe-1and  Rivers-1, making a total of 58 new cases.

There are now 132, 131,254 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide,  2, 865,932 patients are already dead,  while 75, 065, 178 others have recovered and subsequently discharged.

The world is now left with 54, 200, 144 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the country most afflicted by the Coronavirus pandemic, reporting 30, 831, 464 confirmed cases while 556,307 patients have lost their lives to the pandemic(62, 095 new and 1034 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has documented  13, 013, 601  confirmed cases, 332, 752 deaths and  11, 444, 372 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 1, 236, 477 active cases of Coronavirus(28, 645 new and 1319 deaths*) and India which has reported  12, 686,049 all time cases,  165, 547 lives have been lost to the pandemic, while 11, 732, 279 others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 788, 223  active cases of Coronavirus(96, 982 new and 446 deaths*).

France has continues as the 4th country most affected by the virus, reporting 4, 902, 018  confirmations, 97, 431  deaths and 308,128  active cases, leaving France with 4, 496, 459  active cases of Coronavirus(8047 new and 426 deaths*), followed by Russia which has registered 4, 546, 307  confirmed cases of the pandemic, 99,431 patients are already dead, while 4, 171,948 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Russia with 274, 928 active cases of Coronavirus(8206 new and 382 deaths*) and  the United Kingdom, which has reported 4, 379, 022 all time infections,  127, 126  deaths, while 13, 341 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 238, 555 active cases of Coronavirus(2462 new and 22 deaths*).

Italy has come up as the 7th country most hit, reporting 3, 686, 707 all time infections, 111, 747 patients have kicked the bucket while 3, 019,255  others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 555,  705 active cases of Coronavirus(7763 new and 421 deaths*), followed by  Turkey with  3, 579, 185 all time confirmations,  32, 667 deaths and 3, 159, 475 recoveries, leaving Turkey with  387, 043  active cases of Coronavirus(49,584 new and 211 deaths*) and Spain  with  3, 317,948 confirmed cases,  75, 911 deaths, while  150, 376 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Spain with 3, 091, 661 active cases of Coronavirus(6623 new and 128 deaths*).

Germany remains the 10th country worst hit by the pandemic, now reporting 2, 909,902 confirmed cases,  77,245 patients have given up the ghost while 2, 604, 890 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Germany with 227, 767 active cases of Coronavirus(6866 new and 175 deaths*) and South Africa, now the 19th country most affected, reporting 1, 552,416 all time cases, 52, 995 patients are no more, while 1, 478,088 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving South Africa with  21, 333  active cases of Coronavirus.
