US reports 71, 951 new cases of Coronavirus as active cases drops to 11, 421 in Nigeria

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 96 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases to 162,178.  But out of the 162,178  total confirmed cases, 148,726 patients have been treated and  discharged while  2,031 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 421 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-28, Yobe-20,Akwa Ibom-10, ,Cross River-9, Kaduna-6, Kano-5, Edo-4, Oyo-3, Plateau-3, Jigawa-2, Osun-2, Borno-1, Nasarawa-1, Rivers-1 and Sokoto-1, making a total of 96 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 124, 544, 117 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide,  2, 739, 249 patients have kicked the bucket while 70, 689, 935 others have survived the pandemic. The world is now left with 51, 114, 933 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country, reporting  29, 991, 975 confirmed cases, while 544, 922 patients have lost their lives to the virus(71, 951 new and 1129 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has reported 12, 130,019 confirmations, 298, 676  patients are no more, while 10, 724, 135 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 1, 107, 208 active cases of Coronavirus and India with 11, 734, 058  confirmed cases, 160, 441  deaths and 11, 205,160 recoveries, leaving India with 368, 457 active cases of Coronavirus(47,262 new and 275 deaths*).

Russia remains the 4th country most affected, reporting 4, 433, 364 all time cases,  94, 624 patients are already dead, while 4, 051, 703 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Russia with 287, 037  active cases of Coronavirus(8769 new and 393 deaths*), followed by  France which has documented 4, 373, 837  all time infections, 93, 068 patients are no more, while 290, 310 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving France with 3,990, 459 active cases of Coronavirus(239 new and 4 deaths*) and   United Kingdom which has registered  4,326,623  confirmations, 126, 621 deaths and 12, 388 recoveries, leaving the UK with 4, 187, 614 active cases of Coronavirus(5627 new 98 deaths*).

Italy has come up as the 7th country worst hit by the pandemic with 3, 440, 862 confirmed cases,  106, 339 patients have lost their lives to the virus, while 2, 773, 215 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 561, 308 active cases of Coronavirus(32,090 new and 460 deaths*), followed by Spain which has reported 3, 234, 319  all time cases, 73, 744 patients  have been killed by the virus, while 150, 376 others have survived, leaving Spain with 3, 010,199 active cases of Coronavirus and Turkey which has documented 3, 091, 282 all time infections,  30, 462 patients have given up the ghost while 2, 881,643 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 179, 177 active cases of Coronavirus(29, 762 new and 146 deaths*).

Germany remains the 10th country worst hit with 2, 709, 755 confirmed cases, 75, 341 deaths and 2, 450, 405 recoveries, leaving Germany with 180, 009 active cases of Coronavirus(20, 550 new and 225 deaths*) and South Africa which has documented 1, 538,961 confirmed cases,  52, 251 patients  are no more,  while 1, 465, 204 others have recovered, leaving South Africa with 21, 506  active cases of Coronavirus.
