 LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 399 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 160,332. But out of the 160,332 confirmed cases,  144,059 patients have been treated and  discharged, while 2,009 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 13,264 active cases, while 8 patients died in the last 24 hours.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-101, Anambra-96, Edo-50, Abia-29, Imo-28, Ogun-19, Akwa Ibom-16, Kaduna-13, FCT-7, Bayelsa-6, Kano-6, Oyo-6, Delta-5, Rivers-5, Nasarawa-4, Ebonyi-3, Osun-3 and Gombe-2, making a total of 399 new cases.

There are presently 118, 860, 770 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 634, 724 patients have passed on while 67, 295,770 others have recovered and therefore discharged. The world is now left with 48, 930, 276 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics uploaded by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 29,326,182 confirmed cases, while 531, 912 patients have been killed by the pandemic(126, 166 new and 1489 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 11, 308,846 confirmations,  158, 306 patients are no more, while 10, 953, 303 other s have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 197, 237 active cases of Coronavirus(23, 285 new and 117 deaths*) and then Brazil which has registered 11, 277,717 all time infections, 272, 889 deaths and 9, 999, 275 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 1, 005, 553 active cases of Coronavirus(75, 415 new and 2233 deaths*).

Russia remains the 4th country worst hit, now reporting 4, 321, 588  confirmations, 89, 701 patients have passed on while 3, 928, 114 others  have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 303, 773  active cases of Coronavirus(9, 695 new and 477 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has reported  4, 261,393 confirmed cases, 125, 578  deaths, while  11, 945 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 123, 870 active cases of Coronavirus(6693 new and 175 deaths*) and France which has documented  4, 050, 680 all time infections,  89, 984 patients are no more, while 277, 225 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving France with 3, 683, 471 active cases of Coronavirus(137 new *).

Spain has maintained its position as the 7th country worst hit by the pandemic with 3, 183, 990 confirmations, 72, 258 patients have passed on while 150, 376 others have survived the pandemic and therefore discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 961, 356  active cases of the pandemic(519 new and 173 deaths*), followed by  Italy with 3, 175, 807 all time infections,  101, 564 patients have kicked the bucket while 2, 564, 926  others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 509, 317 active cases of Coronavirus(26, 790 new and 380 deaths*) and  Turkey with 2, 850, 930 confirmed cases, 29, 356 deaths and 2, 670, 273  recoveries, leaving Turkey with 151, 301 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 941 new and 66 deaths*).

Germany remains the 10th country worst hit with 2, 559,114  confirmations,  73, 204 patients are no more, while 2, 350,379 others  have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Germany with 135, 531 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 604 new and 236 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported  1, 526,873 registered cases,  51, 110 patients  are no more, while  1, 449, 654 others  are hale and hearty, leaving South Africa with 26, 109  active cases of Coronavirus(1225 new*).
