IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 371 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 158,042. But out of the 158,042  all time cases,  137,025 patients have been treated and discharged, while  1,954 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 19,063 active cases of Coronavirus, while 3 patients died in the last 24 hours.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-101, Rivers-54, Anambra-31, Ebonyi-23, Imo-23, Kwara-22, Kano-20, Taraba-17, Akwa Ibom-16, FCT-15, Abia-13, Kaduna-13, Osun-5, Edo-4, Oyo-4, Kebbi-3, Ogun-3, Ekiti-2, Nasarawa-1 and Zamfara-1, making a total of 371 new cases of Coronavirus in the country.

“ 371 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-101, Rivers-54, Anambra-31, Ebonyi-23, Imo-23, Kwara-22, Kano-20, Taraba-17, Akwa Ibom-16, FCT-15, Abia-13, Kaduna-13, Osun-5, Edo-4, Oyo-4, Kebbi-3, Ogun-3, Ekiti-2, Nasarawa-1 and Zamfara-1; 158,042 confirmed; 137,025 discharged; 1,954 deaths”, the NCDC has announced.

 There are now 115, 921, 721 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 576, 192 patients are no more, while 65, 540,457 others have recovered and therefore discharged. The world is now left with   47, 805, 072 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted, reporting 28, 885,512 confirmed cases  while 522, 325 others have passed on(76, 534 new and 2458 deaths*), followed by India which has registered  11, 173,761 confirmed cases, 157, 548 patients are already dead, while 10, 839, 894 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving India with 176, 319 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 838 new and 113 deaths*) and Brazil with 10, 869, 227 confirmation, 260, 970 deaths and 9, 627, 890 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 980, 376 active cases of Coronavirus(150, 597 new 1699 deaths*).

Russia remains the 4th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 4, 252,  876 all time cases, 86, 821 deaths and 3, 841, 504  recoveries, leaving Russia with 324, 551 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 906 new and 453 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has reported  4, 219, 781 all time cases,  124, 495 patients have passed on while  11,830 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 083, 456  active cases(6048 new and 236 deaths*)  and France which has reported  3, 918, 397 registered cases, 88, 412 patients are already dead, while 270,703  others have recovered, leaving France with 3, 559, 282  active cases of Coronavirus(22, 974 new and 424 deaths*).

Spain remains the 7th country most hit by the virus, reporting  3, 149, 012 confirmations, 71, 138 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, leaving Spain with 2, 927, 498 active cases(6654 new and 637 deaths*), followed by Italy, which has registered 3, 023, 129 all time infections, 99, 271 patients are no more, while 2, 467,388 others have been given clean bill of health,  leaving Italy with 456, 470 active cases of Coronavirus(24, 010 new and 297 deaths*) and Turkey which has confirmed 2, 757, 460 all time cases, 28, 901 patients have perished while 2, 608, 848 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Turkey with 119, 711 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 302 new and 62 deaths*).

Germany remains the 10th country most affected, reporting  2, 493,887 confirmed cases, 71, 693 patients have given up the ghost, while 2, 296, 345 patients have recovered, leaving Germany with 125,  849 active cases of Coronavirus(9666 new and 273 deaths*) and South Africa,  still the 16th country worst hit, reporting 1, 518,979 all time infections,  50, 566 patients have passed on while 1, 437,050 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving South Africa with 31, 363 active cases of Coronavirus(2717 new and 200 deaths*).
