LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) has confirmed 131 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 161,868. But of out of the 161,868 confirmed cases,  148,125 patients have been treated and discharged, while  2030 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11,713 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases are as follows, Lagos-64, Rivers-12, Kaduna-11, Plateau-9, Jigawa-8, Bayelsa-6, Ondo-5, Ebonyi-4, FCT-4, Osun-4, Borno-1, Kano-1, Ogun-1 and Oyo-1, making a total of 131 new cases of Coronavirus.

Globally, there are now 123, 622, 286 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 2, 722, 156 patients are already dead, while 70, 090, 391 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 50, 809, 739 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected country,  reporting 29,  865, 597  confirmed cases while 542, 880 others have passed on(53, 254 new and 578 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has reported 12, 047, 526  confirmations, 295, 425  patients are no more, while 10, 611, 595 others have recovered and consequently discharged, leaving Brazil with 1, 140, 506 active cases of Coronavirus(97,067 new and 2673 deaths*) and India which has reported 11, 646,  081 all time cases,  159, 967  patients are already dead, while 11, 151,468 others have  been given clean bill of health, leaving India with 334, 646 active cases of Coronavirus(46, 951 new and 212 deaths*).

Russia remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 4, 416,226  confirmed cases,  93, 812 patients are no more, while 4, 031,205 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 291, 209  active cases of Coronavirus(9195 new and 355 deaths*), followed by France which has reported  4, 358, 910 all time infection, 92, 776  patients are no more, while 288, 683 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 3, 977, 451 active cases of Coronavirus(81, 124 new and 657 deaths*) and the United Kingdom, which has documented  4, 315,561  all time cases, 126, 411 deaths and 12, 225 recoveries, leaving the UK with 4, 176, 925 active cases of Coronavirus(5390 new and 18 deaths*).

Italy has come up as the 7th country worst hit, reporting 3, 390, 181  all time cases, 105, 328  patients have lost their lives to the pandemic, while 2, 719, 477 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 565, 376 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 805 new and 386 deaths*), followed by Spain which has registered 3, 228,803 all time cases, 73, 543 lives have been lost while  150, 376 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Spain with 2, 999, 884 active cases of Coronavirus(16,471 new and 633 deaths*)  and  Turkey with 3, 035, 338 confirmed cases, 30, 178 patients are already dead, while 2, 844, 681 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Turkey with 160, 479 active cases of Coronavirus(22, 216 new and 117 deaths*).

Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting 2, 678, 262 confirmation, 74, 824 deaths and 2, 428, 206 recoveries, leaving Germany with 175, 232  active cases of Coronavirus(8264 new and 109 deaths*) and South Africa, which has documented 1, 538,451  all time infections,  52, 196 deaths and 1, 463,953  recoveries, leaving South Africa with 22, 302  active cases of Coronavirus(599 new and 85 deaths*).
