Coronavirus claims 3780 lives in Brazil as Nigeria reports 121 new cases

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 121 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases to 162,762.  But out of the 162,762 confirmed  cases, 151,532 patients have been treated and  discharged, while  2,056 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 9, 174 new cases, while 7 patients died in the last 24 hours.

 

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-40, FCT-15, Katsina-12, Kaduna-11, Imo-8, Kebbi-8, Nasarawa-8, Delta-7, Edo-3, Osun-3, Rivers-3 and Ekiti-1, Jigawa-1 and Kano-1”, the NCDC has reported.

There are now 128, 104, 216 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 801,695 patients have passed on while 72, 645, 238 others have recovered and therefore discharged. The world is now left with 52, 657, 283 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest updates from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 30, 388, 625 confirmed cases so far, while 550, 930 patients have given up the ghost(66, 682 new and 1,038 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has reported 12, 658, 109 confirmations, while 317, 646 patients have lost their lives, while 11, 068, 411 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 1, 272, 052 active cases of Coronavirus(84,494 new and 3780 deaths*) and India which has documented 12, 095, 855 all time cases,  162, 114 patients are already dead, while 11,393,021 others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 540, 720 active cases of Coronavirus(56, 211 new and 271 deaths*).

France has come up as the 4th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 4, 646, 004 all time cases, 95, 495 deaths and 299,625 recoveries, leaving France with 4, 250, 884 active cases of Coronavirus(30, 714 new and 381 deaths*) and Russia which has documented 4, 486, 078  confirmations, 96, 817 patients are no more, while 4, 108, 726 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 280, 535 active cases of Coronavirus(7162 new and 404 deaths*) and the United Kingdom which has registered 4, 355,843 all time cases, 126, 912 patients have been killed by the virus, while 12, 869 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving the UK with 4, 216, 062 active cases of Coronavirus(4175 new and 55 deaths*) .

Italy has maintained its position as the 7th country worst hit by the virus, now reporting 3, 561, 012  all time cases of Coronavirus, 108, 879 casualties, while 2, 889, 301 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 562, 832  active cases of the pandemic(16, 055 new and 529 deaths*), followed by Turkey  which has  displaced Spain with 3, 277,880 confirmed cases, 31, 385 patients are no more, while 2, 995, 033 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Turkey with 251, 462 active cases of Coronavirus(37,303 new and 155 deaths*) and Spain  now reporting 3,275, 819 all time infections, 75, 305 deaths while 150, 376 others have been discharged, leaving Spain with 3, 050, 138 active cases of Coronavirus(4994 new and 106 deaths*).

Germany remains the 10th country most affected with 2, 808,206   all time infections,  76, 229 deaths, while 2, 513,240  others have been treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 218, 737 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 357 new and 238 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported 1, 546, 735  all time cases, 52,788  lives have been lost, while 1, 473, 588 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 20, 359 active cases of Coronavirus(756 new and 78 deaths*).
