IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 708 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 157,671. But out of the 157,671 all time cases, 136,335 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,951 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 19, 385 active cases of Coronavirus, while 12 patients died in the last 24 hours.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Adamawa-180, Lagos-141, Ondo-60, Anambra-54, Rivers-41, Taraba-33, Edo-30, Abia-22, Kaduna-22, FCT-21, Akwa Ibom-20, Kano-20, Plateau-11, Ekiti-10, Kebbi-10, Nasarawa-10, Bayelsa-7, Ogun-5, Osun-5, Oyo-5 and Gombe-1, making a total of 708 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 115, 467,624 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 565, 369 patients have kicked the bucket while 65,296,409 patients have been treated and discharged. There are now 47, 605, 846 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted, now reporting 28, 808, 978 confirmed cases, while 519, 867 patients have lost their lives(44, 247 new and 4, 409 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 11, 156, 923 confirmed cases , 157, 435 deaths and 10, 826, 075 recoveries, leaving India with 173, 413 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 407 new and 89 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 10, 718, 630 confirmed cases, 259, 271 deaths, while 9, 573,696 patients have been given clean bill of health, leaving Brazil with 885, 663 active cases of Coronavirus(71, 704 new and 1910 deaths*).
Russia is the 4th country most hit, now reporting 4, 241,970 confirmations, 86, 368 patients are no more, while 3, 826, 183 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Russia with 329, 419 active cases(11, 263 new and 467 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has registered 4, 213, 733 all time cases, 124,259 patients have passed on, while 11,744 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 077, 730 active cases of Coronavirus(6614 new and 242 deaths*) and France, which has registered 3, 895, 423 confirmed cases, 87, 988 patients are already dead, while 269, 474 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving France with 3, 537, 961 active cases of Coronavirus(52, 182 new and 293 deaths*).
Spain remains the 7th country worst hit, reporting 3, 142,358 all time cases, 70, 501 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, leaving Spain with 2, 921, 481 active cases of Coronavirus(6037 new and 254 deaths*), followed by Italy, now reporting 2, 999,119 confirmed cases, 98, 974 patients are no more, while 2, 453,706 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Italy with 446, 439 active cases of Coronavirus(22, 845 new and 339 deaths*) and Turkey, which has documented 2, 746, 158 all time cases, 28, 839 deaths, while 2, 601, 137 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 116, 182 active cases(11,322 new and 68 deaths*).
Germany continues as the 10th country worst hit, now reporting 2, 484,221 all time cases, 71, 420 patients have passed on while 2, 287, 851 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 124, 950 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 480 new and 347 deaths*) and South Africa(16th) most affected country with 1, 516, 262 documented cases, 50, 366 patients have been killed by the virus, while 1, 434,772 others are now hale and hearty, leaving South Africa with 31, 124 active cases of Coronavirus(1447 new and 95 deaths*).
