LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 479 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 156, 496. But out of the 156, 496 total cases, 134, 551 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1923 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 20, 022 active cases of Coronavirus, while 8 patients died in the last 24 hours.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-153, Enugu-75, Rivers-50, FCT-40, Kaduna-18, Ebonyi-17, Plateau-17, Edo-17, Borno-16, Oyo-12, Kano-11, Abia-10, Cross River-10, Taraba-9, Nasarawa-7, Bauchi-4, Bayelsa-3, Delta-3, Ekiti-2, Niger-2, Ogun-2 and Akwa Ibom-1, making a total of 479 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 114, 697, 519 confirmed cases of Coronavirus globally, 2, 544,655 patients have died as a result of the pandemic, while 64, 775, 128 others have recovered and therefore discharged.
There are now 47, 377, 736 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected country, reporting 28, 704, 758 all time cases, while 515, 985 others have passed on(51, 805 new and 1732 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 11,124,527 confirmed cases, 157, 248 patients are no more while 10, 798,921 others have recovered, leaving India with 168, 358 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 286 new and 91 deaths*) and Brazil which has registered 10, 587,001 all time cases, 255, 720 patients have passed on, while 9, 437,611 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 893, 670 active cases of Coronavirus.
Russia remains the 4th country worst hit, reporting 4, 220,291 total cases, 85, 458 patients are already dead as a result of the pandemic, while 3, 794, 930 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Russia with 339, 903 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 441 new and 433 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom which has registered 4, 200,699 all time cases, 123,530 patients are already dead, while 11, 659 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 065, 510 active cases of Coronavirus(6413 new and 343 deaths*) and France which has documented 3, 843, 226 all time cases, 87, 372 deaths, while 266,674 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving France with 3, 489, 180 active cases of Coronavirus(22, 884 new and 417 deaths*).
Spain is the 7th most affected country, reporting 3, 209, 048 confirmations, 69, 879 patients are no more, while 150, 376 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Spain with 2, 988, 793 active cases(4517 new and 270 deaths*), followed by Italy, which has registered 2, 955, 434 all time infections, 98, 288 patients are already dead, while 2, 426,150 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Italy with 430, 996 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 063 new and 342 deaths*) and Turkey with 2, 723, 316 all time cases, 28, 706 patients have passed on while 2, 586,073 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Turkey with 108, 537 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 837 new *).
Germany is the 10th country worst hit, reporting 2, 462,054 all time cases, 70, 698 patients are already dead, while 2, 269,193 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 122, 163 active cases of Coronavirus(6492 new and 432 deaths*) and South Africa, now the 16th country most hit by the pandemic, reporting 1, 513,959 all time infections, 50, 077 patients are no more, while 1, 431,336 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving South Africa with 32, 546 active cases of Coronavirus(566 new and 84 deaths*).
