LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 214 new cases of Coronavirus pandemic, bringing all time cases  in the country to 162,076. But out of the 162,076  all time cases,  148,530 patients have been treated and discharged, while 2,031 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 515  active cases of Coronavirus, while 1 patient passed on in the last 24 hours.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows Adamawa-109, Lagos-33, Bauchi-26, Kaduna-9, Rivers-9, FCT-7, Oyo-7, Gombe-5, Ebonyi-4, Osun-3, Ekiti-1 and  Ogun-1, making a total of 214 new cases.

Globally, there are now 124,124, 997 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 2,733, 380 deaths, while 70, 413,229 others have recovered and therefore discharged. There are now 50, 978, 388 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide based on the latest statistics released by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 29, 920,024 confirmations, while 543,793 patients have been killed by the pandemic(54, 427 new and 913 deaths*), followed by Brazil which has reported 12, 130, 019 all time cases,  298, 676 patients are already dead, while 10,665,161 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 1, 166, 182 active cases of Coronavirus(82, 493 new and  3251 deaths*) and India which has registered 11, 686, 796 confirmed cases, 160, 166 patients have passed on while 11, 181,253 others have survived the pandemic, leaving India with 345, 377 active cases of Coronavirus(40, 715 new and 199 deaths*).

Russia has come up as the 4th country worst hit by the pandemic, with 4,424,595 all time cases, 94, 231 deaths and 4, 041,716 recoveries, leaving Russia with 288, 648  active cases(8369 new and 419deaths*), followed by the France with 4, 373, 598  confirmed cases,  93, 064 patients are already dead, while  290, 310 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 3, 990, 224 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 688 new and 288 deaths*) and the United Kingdom which has documented 4, 320, 996 total cases of Coronavirus 126, 523 patients are no more, while 12, 278 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving the UK with 4, 182, 195  active cases of Coronavirus(5435 new and 112 deaths*).

Italy has come up as the 7th country worst hit by the pandemic, now reporting 3, 408, 772 all time cases, 105, 879 deaths and 2, 753, 083  recoveries, leaving Italy with 549, 810 active cases of Coronavirus(18, 591 new and 551 deaths*) and Spain with 3, 234,319 confirmations, 73, 744 patients have passed on while 150, 376 others have recovered, leaving Spain with 3, 010, 199 active cases of Coronavirus(5516 new and 201 deaths*) and Turkey which has documented  3, 061,520 all time cases,  30, 316 deaths and 2, 863,882 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 167, 322  active cases of the Coronavirus pandemic(26, 182 new and 138 deaths*).

Germany remains the 10th country worst hit with  current cases put at 2, 689, 205 and 75, 116 deaths, while  2, 438,550 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving Germany with 175, 539  active cases of Coronavirus pandemic(10, 943 new and 292 deaths*) and South Africa which has reported 1, 538,961 total confirmed cases, 52, 251 deaths and 1, 465,204 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 21, 506 active cases of Coronavirus pandemic(510 new and 55 deaths*).
