ONITSHA, Anambra – National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Anambra State chapter has sensitized it’s staff on public service ethics and values. Our reporter gathered that the training and sensitization programme was designed to effectively serve the public with approved ethical practices in civil service .
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training, with the theme, Public Service Ethics and Integrity Building, held at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu , the Director of NYSC South East Area Office, Alhaji Ahmed Wada Ikaka said that staff of the scheme owe it a duty to protect the image of the organization at all times.
He advised the Zonal and Local Government Inspectors to restrain themselves from engaging in acts capable of causing embarrassment to the noble scheme but that they should continue to embrace the virtues of integrity, patriotism, teamwork and commitment, which are the core values of the National Youth Service corps.
Speaking also the coordinator of Anambra state NYSC Mr. Kehinde Aremu expressed his delight at receiving the Area Director. According to him, the observance of public service ethics and integrity building brings about efficiency and progress in organizations.
The resource persons, all from the South East Area Office include Dr Agbor Ndoma, Deputy Director, Mrs Ben Ushie Ifeoma, Assistant Director and Mr Eze Christopher, Assistant Director, while participants include Assistant Directors/Heads of Branches in the State, Zonal and Local Government inspectors.
