IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 464 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 156,963. But out of the 156,963 confirmed cases, 135,831 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,939 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 19, 193 active cases of Coronavirus, while 16 patients died in the last 24 hours.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-131, Kaduna-69, Akwa Ibom-33, Imo-31, Katsina-30, Kano-26, Ondo-23, Yobe-20, FCT-18, Ogun-13, Rivers-12, Kebbi-11, Ekiti-9, Osun-6, Oyo-6, Borno-5, Gombe-5, Plateau-5, Edo-4, Abia-3, Delta-3 and Zamfara-1, making a total of 464 new cases of Coronavirus in the country.

There are now 115, 013,896 confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide, 2, 555,733 patients have passed on, while 65, 083,034 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 47, 375, 129 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 28, 764, 731 all time infections, 515, 458 patients have passed on(59, 973 new*) followed by India which has documented 11, 139,516 confirmations, 157, 346 deaths while 10, 812, 044 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving India with 170, 126 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 989 new and 98 deaths*) and Brazil which has registered 10, 646, 926 confirmed cases, 257, 361 deaths have been recorded, while 9, 552,846 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Brazil with 836, 719 active cases of Coronavirus(59, 925 new and 1641 deaths*).
Russia remains the 4th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 4, 230,707 all time cases, 85, 901 patients are no more, while 3, 810, 327 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 334, 479 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 416 new 443 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom, which has registered 4, 207, 119 confirmations, 124, 017 deaths and 11, 731 recoveries, leaving the UK with 4, 071, 371 active cases of Coronavirus(6420 new and 487 deaths*) and France, which has registered 3, 843, 241 infections, 87, 695 patients have perished, while 268, 073 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 3, 487, 473 active cases of Coronavirus(15 new and 323 deaths*) .
Spain is the 7th country most affected by the virus, now reporting 3, 136,321 all time infections, 70, 247 deaths, while 150, 376 patients have recovered, leaving Spain with 2, 915, 698 Coronavirus patients(368 deaths*), followed by Italy which has documented 2, 976, 274 confirmed cases, 98, 635 patients have passed on while 2, 440,218 others have bounced back to life, leaving Italy with 437, 421 active cases(20, 840 new and 347 deaths*) and Turkey with 2, 734, 836 all time cases, 28, 771 deaths and 2, 593,264 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 112, 801 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 520 new and 65 deaths*).
Germany has maintained the 10th spot among most afflicted countries, reporting 2, 472, 741 confirmations, 71, 073 patients have given up the ghost, while 2, 278,773 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Germany with 122, 895 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 687 new and 375 deaths*) and South Africa, 16th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 1, 514,815 confirmed cases, 50, 271 patients have kicked the bucket, while 1, 433,320 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving South Africa with 31, 224 active cases of Coronavirus(856 new and 194 deaths*).
