ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – Former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria CBN , Prof . Charles Soludo has stated that his aspiration to be governor of Anambra state was to appreciate God for his immense blessings upon his life. Soludo stated this ,while interacting with some journalists in Awka Anambra state capital at the weekend.
According to him, God has blessed him beyond imagination and the only thing he can do now was to devote his entire life serving the state after serving outside meritoriously .
“I have served the world and the country . I have finished with the world and Nigeria , I now want to use the rest of life to serving my state Anambra and replicate what I have done outside to my state. I am fulfilled and i want God to use me as contact of blessings to others .I am in the governorship race to bring my service home and touch the lives of the people in the state .
“I grew in the village from a poor home and God in his infinite mercy raised me up beyond imagination . I am grateful to him and I want to serve Anambra state because God knew why he created me in the state ” he said .
Soludo said that God has done everything for him and he is not asking for more but the only thing he is asking God is to use him as a vehicle to empower and raise people in the state .
According to him, if he becomes the governor of the state , he will replicate his good deeds in the world and Nigeria in the state , saying when he became the governor of CBN ,he effectively carried out what he did in bank consolidation which a lot said it was not impossible but he did it.
He also said God has blessed him with the gift of transformation and anything he touches yields good fruit ,noting that he wants to transform Anambra .
” It is my intention to turn around the state for good . I will turn around the education sector in the state as one of the best in the country, comparable to others in the world . No country can develop above its educational institution .
“I want to create an environment where the Anambra people and unborn children will be proud to call Anambra their state . I want to see Anambra as a state where the people will have all the incentives and attractions to live in the state rather than having preference of moving to other states .We must come together and build our state for ourselves and for our children” he said .
