LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 1340 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 136,030. But out of the 136,030 total confirmed  cases, 110, 449  patients have been treated and discharged, while  1632 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 23, 943 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows: FCT-320, Lagos-275, Rivers-117, Oyo-100, Akwa Ibom-57, Ogun-51, Ebonyi-48, Benue-44, Adamawa-42, Imo-38, Kwara-35, Gombe-32, Kaduna-31, Edo-29, Osun-29, Kano-24, Ekiti-15, Katsina-14, Delta-13, Nasarawa-13, Jigawa-10 and Sokoto-3, making a total of 1340 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 104,710, 234  confirmed cases of Coronavirus globally,  2,278,469 patients have lost their lives to the virus, while 58, 201,761 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 44, 230, 004 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected state, reporting 26,642,744  confirmed cases, while 454,596 patients have been killed by the virus(125, 532 new and 5, 111 deaths*), followed by India which has documented 10, 790, 183 confirmed cases,  154, 703 deaths while 10, 480,455  others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 155, 025 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 899 new and 107 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 9, 339,420 confirmations, 227, 563 patients have passed on while 8, 344,166 others have survived the ailment, leaving Brazil with 972, 501 active cases of Coronavirus(56,002 new and 1254 deaths*).

The United Kingdom has come up as the 4th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 3, 903, 706 confirmed cases, 110, 462 deaths, while 10, 011 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 3, 783, 233 active cases of Coronavirus(20, 734 new and 915 deaths*), followed by Russia, now reporting 3, 874, 830 confirmed cases, 74, 005 deaths, 3, 352,720  others are now  hale and hearty, leaving Russia with 448, 105 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 463 new and  508 deaths*)  and France which has reported 3, 310,476 confirmations, 77, 743 patients are no more, while 234,768 others  have been treated and discharged, leaving  France with 3,232, 733 cases of Coronavirus(449 new and 2 deaths*).

Spain remains the 7th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 2, 913,425 confirmed cases, 60, 802 patients are no more, while 150, 376 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 702, 247 Coronavirus cases(29, 960 ne w and  432 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 2, 597, 446 confirmed cases, 90, 241 patients have passed on while 2, 076,928 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Italy with 430,277  active cases of Coronavirus(13, 656 new and 421 deaths*) and  Turkey which has documented 2, 508, 988 cases,  26, 467 patients are no more, while 2, 396, 199 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving  Turkey with 86, 322 active cases of Coronavirus(7909 new and 113 deaths*).

Germany remains the 10th country most hit, reporting  2, 265, 513 confirmations, 60, 067 patients are no more, while 2,006, 460  others  have been treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 198, 986 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 259 new and 757 deaths*) and South Africa with 1, 466,767 confirmed cases, 45, 605 deaths, while 1, 327,186 others have been discharged, leaving South Africa with 93,976 active cases of Coronavirus(7809 new and 261 deaths*).
