LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) has confirmed 676 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases to 131,918. But out of the 131,918 confirmed cases, 106,275 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,607 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 24, 036 active cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-227, Rivers-73, Niger-69, Plateau-56, FCT-50, Kano-44, Oyo-43, Ogun-27, Gombe-18, Ondo-15, Enugu-10, Osun-10, Cross River-8, Edo-8, Nasarawa-7, Bauchi-4, Kaduna-3, Ekiti-2 and Zamfara-2, making a total of 676 new cases of Coronavirus in the country.

There are now 103,283,042 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 233,906 patients have lost their lives to the virus, while 57, 222,584 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 43, 826, 552 active cases of Coronavirus, based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected country, reporting 26, 268,048 confirmed cases, while 442, 399 patients have been killed by the virus(138,039 new and 1747deaths*), followed by India, which has reported 10, 757,610 confirmed cases, 154, 392 patients have given up the ghost, while 10, 434, 983 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 168, 235 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 427 new and 118 deaths*) and Brazil which has confirmed 9, 204, 731 cases, 224, 504 deaths and 8, 199,492 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 780, 735 active cases of Coronavirus(27,756 new and 559 deaths*).
The United Kingdom has come up as the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 3, 846, 851 confirmed cases, 106,774 patients have been killed in the UK alone, while only 9, 735 others have been assisted to the point of recovery, leaving the UK with 3, 730, 342 Coronavirus patients still in need of the best of care to come out alive(18, 668 new and 407 deaths*), followed by Russia which has confirmed 3, 825,739 cases, 72, 456 patients are no more while 3, 282, 631 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 470, 652 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 391 new and 427 deaths*) and France which has reported 3, 260,267 confirmations, 76, 656 deaths and 231,525 recoveries, leaving France with 2, 952, 086 active cases of Coronavirus(4347 new and 455 deaths*).
Spain is the 7th country most hit by the virus, reporting 2, 822,805 confirmed cases, 59,081 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, leaving Spain with 2, 613, 348 active cases of Coronavirus(79,686 new and 762 deaths*), followed by Italy with 2, 560, 957 confirmed cases, 88, 845 patients are no more, while 2,024,523 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 447, 589 active cases of Coronavirus(7925 new and 329 deaths*) and Turkey with 2, 485, 182 confirmed cases, 26,117 patients are no more, while 2,370, 431 others have recovered, leaving Turkey with 88, 634 active cases of Coronavirus(37, 719 new and 124 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th country most afflicted, reporting 2, 232, 312 confirmed cases, 57, 490 patients have passed on while 1, 952,835 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Germany with 221, 987 active cases of Coronavirus(6770 new and 327 deaths*) and South Africa (15th) country worst hit by the virus, reporting 1, 453,761 confirmed cases, 44, 399 patients are no more, while 1, 306,022 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 103, 340 active cases of Coronavirus(4525 new and 235 deaths*).
