LAGOS – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 938 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases in the country to 143,516. But out of the 143,516 confirmed cases, 118,012 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,710 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 23, 794 active cases of Coronavirus. Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-236, FCT-123, Plateau-92, Benue-63, Katsina-53, Oyo-50, Osun-45, Kaduna-43, Edo-33, Ogun-31, Ebonyi-31, Akwa Ibom-30, Kano-26, Gombe-18, Bauchi-16, Delta-12, Imo-11, Cross, River-10, Rivers-10 and Niger-5, making a total of 938 new cases of Coronavirus.

On the global scene, there are now 107, 739, 655 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 2, 365,911 deaths have been recorded, while 60, 247,388 others have survived. There are now 45, 126, 356 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, now reporting 27,382, 857 confirmed cases, while 475, 040 patients have been killed by the virus(560,029 new and 4, 047 deaths*), followed by India, which has confirmed 10, 871, 294 cases, 155, 360 deaths, while 10, 573, 372 others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 142, 562 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 923 new and 108 deaths*) and Brazil, which has documented 9, 713, 909 all time cases, 236, 201 patients have passed on while 8, 634, 117 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 843, 591 active cases of Coronavirus(114, 344 new 2681 deaths*).
The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most hit, now reporting 4, 010,361 all time infections, 115, 748 deaths, while 10, 552 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 3, 884, 061 Coronavirus patients(13, 585 new and 681 deaths*), followed by Russia which has reported 3, 983,031 confirmed cases, 77, 415 deaths, while 3, 499,230 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Russia with 406, 386 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 803 new and 542 deaths*) and France, which has documented 3, 465,951 confirmed cases, 80, 951 deaths, while 244, 961 others have recovered, leaving France with 3,140, 039 active cases of Coronavirus(21, 354 new and 360 deaths*).
Spain remains the 7th country most affected, reporting 3, 041,454 confirmed cases, 64, 217 deaths, while 150,376 others have been discharged after treatment, leaving Spain with 2, 826, 861 Coronavirus patients(17, 853 new and 513 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 2, 683,403 confirmations, 92, 729 deaths, while 2, 185,655 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Italy with 405, 019 active cases of Coronavirus(15, 137 new and 391 deaths*) and Turkey with 2, 564, 427 confirmed cases, 27, 187 deaths, while 2, 453,096 patients have been discharged after recovery, leaving Turkey with 84, 144 active cases of Coronavirus(7590 new and 94 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th country most hit, reporting 2, 321, 225 confirmed cases, 63, 858 patients have passed on, while 2, 098,463 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 158, 904 active cases of Coronavirus(9928 new and 634 deaths*) and South Africa now the 16th most afflicted country, reporting 1, 484, 900 all time cases, 47, 382 patients have kicked the bucket, while 1, 377, 980 others have recovered after medical attention, leaving South Africa with 59, 538 active cases of Coronavirus(2488 new and 237 deaths*).
