LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 1005 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 144,521. But out of the 144,521 confirmed cases, 118,866 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1,734 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 23, 921 active cases of Coronavirus, while 24 patients have died in the last 24 hours.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-204, Kwara-155, Oyo-124, Plateau-80, FCT-75, Edo-56, Osun-48, Ondo-41, Kaduna-40, Rivers-40, Taraba-35, Borno-32, Ekiti-21, Ogun-20, Kano-14, Bayelsa-8, Delta-7, Bauchi-3 and Jigawa-2, making a total of 1005 new cases of Coronavirus.

Globally, there are now 108, 069, 662 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 2, 378, 882 lives have been claimed by the virus, while 60, 515, 232 others have recovered and therefore discharged. There are now 45, 175, 548 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the Centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 27, 447, 620 confirmed cases, while 480, 446 patients have died from the virus(64, 763 new and 5406 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 10, 880,603 confirmed cases, 155, 447 deaths, while 10, 589, 230 patients have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 135, 926 active cases of Coronavirus(9309 new and 87 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 9, 713,909 confirmed cases, 236, 201 deaths, while 8, 682, 773 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 794, 935 active cases of Coronavirus.
The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most hit by the virus, reporting 4, 025,529 confirmed cases, 115, 507 patients are already dead, while 10, 611 others have survived the pandemic and therefore discharged, leaving the UK with 3, 899, 411 Coronavirus patients(15, 168 new), followed by Russia, which has reported 3, 997,898 all time cases, 77, 911 deaths, while 3, 519, 689 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Russia with 400, 298 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 867 new 496 deaths*) and France, which has reported 3, 466,623 confirmations, 80, 954 deaths, while 244, 962 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 3, 140, 707 active cases of Coronavirus(672 new and 3 deaths*).
Spain has come up as the 7th country most hit by the virus, reporting 3, 056, 035 all time infections, 64, 747 patients have passed on, while 150, 376 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 840, 912 Coronavirus patients(14, 581 new and 530 deaths*), followed by Italy which has documented 2, 697, 296 all time infections, 93, 045 patients are already dead, while 2, 202,077 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 402, 174 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 893 new and 316 deaths*) and Turkey with 2, 572, 190 confirmations, 27, 284 patients are no more, while 2, 461,204 others have recovered, leaving Turkey with 83, 702 active cases of Coronavirus(7,763 new and 97 deaths*).
Germany remains has come up as the 10th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 2, 330,414 confirmed cases, 64, 402 patients are no more, while 2, 111, 060 patients are now hale and hearty, leaving Germany with 154, 952 active cases of Coronavirus(9189 new and 544 deaths*) and South Africa which has documented 1, 487,681 all time cases, 47, 670 deaths and 1, 383,626 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 56, 385 active cases of Coronavirus(2781 new and 288 deaths*).
