LAGOS – Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 1131 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 142, 578. But out of the 142, 578 confirmed cases, 116,947 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1702 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 23,929 active cases of Coronavirus, while 8 patients died in the last 24 hours.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-297, FCT-194, Kaduna-83, Kano-59, Oyo-58, Taraba-53, Imo-52, Osun-47, Plateau-45, Edo-43, Akwa Ibom-42, Rivers-42, Ogun-29, Kwara-24, Benue-21, Nasarawa-16, Ekiti-7, Bauchi-6, Delta-6, Bayelsa-4, Sokoto-2 and Gombe-1, making a total of 1131 new cases of Coronavirus in the country.

There are now 107, 223,174 confirmed cases of Coronavirus globally, 2, 350,316 patients have been killed by Coronavirus, while 59, 974,392 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 44, 898, 466 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics published by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the Centre, the United States remains the most affected country, now reporting 27,272,828 confirmed cases, while 470, 993 lives have been claimed by Coronavirus in the USA alone(105, 883 new and 3681 deaths*), followed by India, which has reported 10, 858,371 confirmed cases, 155, 252 patients are no more, while 10, 561,608 others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 141, 511 active cases(11,057 new and 94 deaths*), followed by Brazil, which has documented 9, 599, 565 confirmations, 233, 520 deaths, while 8, 616, 265 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving Brazil with 749, 780 active cases of Coronavirus(51, 486 new and 1350 deaths*).
The United Kingdom remains the 4th country worst hit, reporting 3, 996, 776 confirmations, 115, 067 patients have been killed by the virus, while only 10, 447 patients have been able to survive the pandemic from the outset, leaving the UK with 3, 871, 262 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 092 new and 1001 deaths*) , followed by Russia now reporting 3, 968,228 confirmed cases, 76, 873 patients are no more, while 3, 477, 760 patients have survived the pandemic and subsequently discharged, leaving Russia with 413, 595 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 258 new and 526 deaths*) and France which has documented 3, 444,597 all time cases, 80, 591 deaths, while 243, 320 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving France with 3, 120, 686 active cases of Coronavirus(25, 403 new and 296 deaths*).
Spain has come up as the 7th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 3, 023, 601 confirmations, 63, 704 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 809, 521 Coronavirus patients(18, 114 new and 634deaths*), followed by Italy, which has reported 2, 668,266 all time cases, 92, 338 patients are no more, while 2, 165,817 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 410, 111 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 947 new and 336 deaths*) and Turkey now reporting 2, 556,837 confirmed cases, 27,093 patients are already dead, while 2, 445,285 others have survived the pandemic, leaving Turkey with 84, 459 active cases of Coronavirus(8642 new and 95 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th country worst hit with 2, 311,297 confirmed cases, 63, 224 patients are no more, while 2, 084, 989 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Germany with 163, 084 active cases of Coronavirus(9246 new and 815 deaths*) and South Africa,16th country worst hit, reporting 1, 482,412 all time cases, 47, 145 deaths, while 1,374,368 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 60, 899 active cases of Coronavirus(3159 new and 276 deaths*).
