LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 869 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 149, 369. But out of the 149, 369 confirmed cases, 125, 722 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1787 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 21,860 active cases of Coronavirus, while 10 patients died in the last 24 hours.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-229, Rivers-79, Taraba-73, Oyo-66, Ogun-60, FCT-58, Plateau-56, Kwara-38, Ondo-38, Osun-24, Kano-22, Nasarawa-21, Abia-19, Edo-19, Akwa Ibom-19, Cross River-10, Delta-9, Benue-8, Ekiti-6, Borno-6, Katsina-4, Bauchi-3, Bayelsa-1 and Zamfara-1, making a total of 869 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 109, 836, 395 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 427, 316 patients have been killed by the pandemic, while 61,798, 025 others have survived. The world is now left with 45, 611, 054 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 27, 811,617 confirmed cases, while 489, 933 patients have been killed by the pandemic(79, 992 new and 2438 deaths*), followed by India which has reported 10, 937, 320 confirmed cases, 155, 913 patients have passed on, while 10, 644, 858 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving India with 136, 549 active cases(11, 610 new and 100 deaths*) and Brazil, now reporting 9, 978, 747 confirmations, 242, 090 patients are no more, while 8, 906, 929 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Brazil with 828, 728 active cases of Coronavirus(112, 037 new and 2,317 deaths*).
The United Kingdom remains the 4th country most hit, reporting 4, 083, 051 all time infections, 119,159 deaths while 11, 032 patients have been assisted successfully to recovery, leaving the UK with 3, 952, 860 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 728 new and 738 deaths*) , followed by Russia which has registered 4, 066, 164 confirmed cases, 80, 118 patients have passed on while 3, 602, 163 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 383, 883 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 629 new and 459 deaths*) and France which has reported 3, 573, 470 confirmed cases, 83, 271 deaths, while 251, 947 others have recovered, leaving France with 3, 238, 252 active cases of Coronavirus(25, 024 new and 311 deaths*).
Spain remains the 7th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 3, 107,172 confirmed cases, 66, 316 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 others have been discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 890, 480 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 829 new*), followed by Italy with 2, 751, 657 confirmed infections, 94, 540 deaths and 2, 268, 253 recoveries, leaving Italy with 388, 864 active cases(12, 066 new and 369 deaths*) and Turkey with 2, 609, 359 confirmed cases, 27, 738 deaths, while 2,496, 833 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Turkey with 84, 788 active cases of Coronavirus(7325 new and 86 deaths*).
Germany has come up as the 10th country most affected, reporting 2, 362, 352 confirmed cases, 66, 427 deaths, while 2, 162, 861 others have been cleared for good health, leaving Germany with 133, 064 active cases(9597 new and 598 deaths*) and South Africa, now the 16th country most affected, reporting 1, 496, 439 confirmations, 48, 478 deaths and 1, 399,829 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 48, 132 active cases of Coronavirus(3530 new and 384 deaths*).
