LAGOS, Nigeria -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 1244 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 101,331. But out of the 101, 331 confirmed cases, 80,491 patients have recovered and subsequently discharged, while 1,361 others could not make it alive. Active cases in Nigeria has now risen to 19, 479.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-774, FCT-125, Plateau-102, Anambra-47, Ondo-46, Rivers-27, Edo-18, Kaduna-16, Ogun-16, Gombe-16, Bauchi-11, Kano-11, Nasarawa-10, Akwa Ibom-7, Sokoto-7, Borno-5, Ekiti-4 and Zamfara-2, making a total of 1244 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 90, 806, 606 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 1, 942, 713 patients have lost their lives to the virus, while 50, 215,407 others have been treated and discharged. The world is now left with 38, 648, 486 active cases of Coronavirus based on current statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States of America remains the most affected country, reporting 22,575,895 confirmed cases, 375, 838 deaths(275,199 new and 2169 deaths*), followed by India which has registered 10, 466, 595 cases, 151,160 patients have been killed by the virus, while 10, 092,909 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 222,526 active cases of Coronavirus(16,311 new and 161 deaths*) and Brazil which has documented 8, 131, 612 all time cases, 203, 580 patients are already dead, while 7, 272, 713 others have recovered and subsequently discharged from isolation centre. Brazil is now left with 655, 319 active cases of Coronavirus(55, 614 new and 949 deaths*).
Russia remains the 4th country most afflicted with the virus, reporting 3, 389,733 confirmed cases, 61, 389 patients have lost their lives, while 2, 771,793 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Russia with 556, 551 active cases of Coronavirus(23,018 new and 426 deaths*) followed by the United Kingdom which has registered 3, 127, 636 confirmed cases, 82, 092 patients have been killed by the virus, while 7, 241 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the UK with 3, 038, 303 active cases of Coronavirus(46, 270 new and 525 deaths*) and France which has confirmed 2, 844,581 all time cases, 68, 195 patients are no more, while 208, 997 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving France with 2, 567, 389 active cases of Coronavirus(3717 new and 310 deaths*).
Turkey remains the 7th country worst hit by the virus. Turkey has documented 2, 336,476 confirmed cases, 22,981 patients have passed on while 2, 208, 451 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 105, 044 active cases of Coronavirus(10,220 new and 174 deaths*), followed by Italy with 2, 289, 021 confirmed cases, 79, 203 patients have lost their lives to the virus, while 1, 633,839 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving Italy with 575, 979 active cases of
Coronavirus(12, 530 new and 448 deaths*) and Spain, now reporting 2, 111, 116 confirmed cases, 52, 275 deaths have been recorded, while 150, 376 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 1, 908, 464 active cases of Coronavirus(60, 756 new and 401 deaths*) .
Germany remains the 10th country most afflicted by Coronavirus. Germany has reported 1, 941, 116 confirmed cases, 41, 266 patients have lost their lives, while 1, 571, 218 others have recovered and discharged, leaving Germany with 328, 632 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 706 new and 525 deaths*) and South Africa with 1, 246,643 confirmed cases, 33, 579 deaths and 793, 265 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 419, 799 active cases of Coronavirus(15, 046 new cases 416 deaths*).
