LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) has confirmed 576 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases in Nigeria to 89,163. But out of the 89,163 all time cases,  74,789 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, while 1,302  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 13, 072 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-277, FCT-90, Oyo-51, Nasarawa-49, Sokoto-23, Anambra-14, Bauchi-11, Imo-11, Kano-11, Edo-10, Plateau-10, Ogun-9, Osun-5, Jigawa-3, Rivers-2, making a total of 576 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 84, 435,558 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 1, 833, 341 patients are already dead, while 47, 510, 175 others have recovered. There are now 35, 092, 042 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide, based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country,  reporting 20,346, 291 confirmed cases over time, 349, 521 patients are already dead, while statistics for total recovery was not disclosed(260, 883 new cases and 1, 319 deaths* ), followed by India, which has reported  10, 305,788 confirmed cases, 149, 218 patients are already dead, while  9, 906, 387 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving India with 250, 183 active cases of Coronavirus(19, 079 new cases and  224 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 7, 700, 578  all time cases,  195, 411 deaths and  6, 890, 166 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 615, 001 active cases of Coronavirus(24, 605 new cases and 462 deaths*).

Russia remains the 4th country most hit by the virus, reporting  3, 179,898 confirmed cases,  57, 235 patients have passed on while  2, 572, 279  others have recovered, leaving Russia with 550, 384 active cases of  Coronavirus(25, 938 new cases and 437 deaths* ), followed by France which has documented 2, 700,480  confirmed cases, 65, 048 deaths and  201, 095 recoveries, leaving France with 2, 434, 337 active cases of Coronavirus(22, 609 new cases and   288 deaths*)and  the United Kingdom which has reported 2, 607,523 all time cases,  74, 682 deaths and  5, 711 recoveries, leaving the UK  to contend with  2, 527, 130 Coronavirus patients(57, 835 new cases and 447 deaths*).

Turkey is now the 7th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 2,232,035 all time cases,  21, 295 patients have passed on while  2, 126,432 others have recovered, leaving Turkey with 84, 308 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 180 new cases and 202 deaths* ), followed by  Italy, which has reported 2, 141, 201 confirmations, 74, 985 patients are no more, while   1, 489, 154 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Italy with  577, 062 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 825 new cases and 364 deaths* ) and Spain which has documented  1, 928, 265  all time cases,  50, 837 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 others have recovered, leaving Spain with 1, 727, 052 active cases of Coronavirus.

Germany has settled down as the 10th country worst hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, reporting 1, 773, 115  confirmations,  34, 257 patients have passed on while 1, 389, 624 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 349, 234 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 749 new cases and  416 deaths*)  and South Africa, now 17th in the league of most afflicted country, reporting  1, 088,889 all time cases,  29, 175 deaths and 897, 704 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 162, 010 active cases of Coronavirus(15,002 new cases and 288 deaths*).
