LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) has confirmed 1664 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases to 94, 369 cases, while 77, 299 others have been treated and discharged, while 1324 others could not make it alive. Active cases in Nigeria has risen to 15, 746.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-642, FCT-407, Plateau-160, Kaduna-83, Rivers-62, Adamawa-47, Nasarawa-38, Abia-29, Edo-28, Anambra-27, Niger-24, Ogun-24, Imo-15, Oyo-14, Kano-12, Osun-12, Borno-9, Delta-7, Enugu-7, Bauchi-5, Ekiti-5, Sokoto-5, Jigawa-2, making a total of 1664 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 86, 900, 991 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 1, 877, 019 people have been killed by the virus, while 48, 661, 809 others have recovered and subsequently discharged. The world is now left with 36, 362, 163 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country globally, reporting 21, 201, 638 confirmed cases, 359, 593 patients have been killed by the virus,(220, 615 new * )followed by India, which has registered 10, 374, 932 all time cases, 150, 114 deaths, while 9, 997, 272 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 227, 546 active cases of (18,088 new and 264 deaths*) and Brazil which has reported 7, 810, 400 all time infections, 197, 732 patients are no more, while 7, 012, 280 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 600, 388 active cases of Coronavirus(56, 648 new and 1, 171 deaths*).
Russia remains the 4th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 3, 274, 615 confirmations, 59,137 patients are no more, while 2, 657, 994 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 557, 484 active cases of Coronavirus(23, 902 new and 430 deaths* ), followed by the United Kingdom which has reported 2, 845, 236 all time infections, 77, 470 patients have already lost their lives, while only 6, 432 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving the UK with 2, 761, 334 Coronavirus patients praying for divine intervention to save their lives(62, 578 new and 1047 deaths* ) and France which has documented 2, 763, 073 confirmations, 66, 699 patients have been killed by the virus, while 204, 679 others have recovered, leaving France with 2, 491, 695 Coronavirus patients looking up to the best of medical care to keep living(25, 289 new and 2,282 deaths*).
Turkey remains the 7th country worst hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, reporting 2, 283,931 all time infections, 22, 070 people are already dead, while 2, 164, 040 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 97, 821 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 830 new and 191 deaths*), followed by Italy, which has documented 2, 201,945 confirmed cases, 76, 877 patients are no more, while 1, 556, 356 others have recovered, leaving Italy with 568, 712 active cases of Coronavirus(20, 326 new and 548 deaths*) and Spain, which has reported 1, 982, 544 confirmed cases, 51, 430 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 patients have recovered, and this has been the number since June 2020, leaving Spain with 1, 780, 738 Coronavirus patients to assist to get back on their feet.
Germany remains the 10th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 1, 840, 881 all times infections, 37, 314 patients are already dead, while 1, 477, 616 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 325, 951 active cases of Coronavirus(26, 316 and 1228 deaths*) and South Africa, now the 16th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 1, 127, 759 all time infections, 30, 524 patients are already dead, while 920, 879 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 176, 356 active cases of Coronavirus.
