LAGOS, Nigeria – Magnificient Therapy Services, an organisation based in Lagos, saddled with caring for children with special needs and disabilities, is set to expand its operations in the new year.

Speaking on the proposed expansion and plans to achieve it, Mr. Bidemi Jaiyesimi, the Programme Director of Magnificient Therapy Services, says there is no going back in ensuring that dream is fulfilled. According to him, handling children at the Centre has not only been challenging but also has been a learning experience for him and the staff he works with. He stresses that taking care of the children – whom he calls their ‘Ambassadors’, – requires a heart of gold and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Jaiyesimi  frowns at the stigmatisation and rejection sometimes suffered by these children from the public, and in some cases, from family members. He says this should be totally condemned and that those with this disposition, need to be educated so as to understand what these children are really going through.

He enjoins well meaning Nigerians to support the laudable cause of donating a token in ensuring that the Centre is able to acquire a property, which has already but end identified, for the purpose and part of the expansion plan.

“Magnificient Therapy Services is an Organisation that works and cares for children with special needs and other developmental challenges. Our homes also provide accommodation for vulnerable Children with disability. What we do in our Centre, as we have been doing for years now, is quite challenging and it has also proven to be a learning experience for us at the Centre.

“All we set out to do for these vulnerable children, can only be achieved with a heart of gold. We see these wonderful children as our ambassadors and we enjoin all and sundry to support our cause to better the lot of these children. Well meaning Nigerians can come to us to make enquiries on how they can support this project and partner with us in any way possible.

“One unfortunate thing that we’ve have to grapple with, is stigmatisation suffered by these children. It’s unfortunate that even some members of their families, do this to these children. Some members of the public are also guilty of this. All I can say is that these category of people need to be educated on the true picture of these children and what they are going through. If they knew better, they wouldn’t stigmatise them but show them love.

“We have been able to identify a property which we are hopeful we can purchase, to expand our operations, as the place we are now, is becoming too small for us. We are, therefore, soliciting financial support for the expansion project of our Center, which will cost us Seventy Million Naira (N70,000,000.00). Completion of the project will give us more rooms to render free therapy services to more vulnerable children with disability.

“Your minimum donation of One Thousand Naira (1,000.00) will greatly make us to achieve this goal. Our Account Numbers are: Magnificient Therapy Services, Gtbank account number: 0010945572.
