IKEJA, Lagos – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control,(NCDC) has confirmed 1479 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 105,478. But out of the 105,478 confirmed cases, 83,830 patients have been treated and discharged, while 1405 others could not make it alive. Active cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria has now risen to 20,243.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-697, FCT-201, Nasarawa-80, Plateau-74, Rivers-72, Edo-46, Adamawa-43, Osun-39, Akwa Ibom-35, Delta-31, Anambra-27, Oyo-24, Kano-21, Abia-19, Enugu-19, Ogun-18, Sokoto-12, Bauchi-7, Taraba-7, Ekiti-4, Gombe-4, Imo-4, Bayelsa-2, Jigawa-2 and Zamfara-1, making a total of 1479 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 92,770, 898 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 1,986,398 patients have given up the ghost, while 51,186, 450 others have recovered. There are now 39, 598, 050 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 23,215, 680 confirmed cases while 386, 996 others have been killed by the virus(217, 360 new and 3658 deaths*), followed by India, which has registered 10, 512,093 all time cases, 151, 727 patients have passed on while 10, 146, 763 others have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 213, 603 active cases of Coronavirus(16,946 new and 198 deaths*) and Brazil which has confirmed 8, 256,536 all time cases, 204, 964 lives have been lost to the virus, while 7, 347, 080 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Brazil with 704, 492 active cases of Coronavirus(60, 899 new and 274 deaths*).
Russia remains the 4th country most affected, reporting 3,459, 237 confirmations, 63, 016 patients have been killed by the virus, while 2, 851,737 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 544, 484 active cases of Coronavirus(24, 303 new and 553 deaths*), followed by the United Kingdom, which has documented 3, 221,037 confirmed cases, 84, 915 patients are already dead, while 7, 523 others have been treated and discharged since the outset of the pandemic, leaving the UK with 3, 128, 599 Coronavirus cases(98 new and 6 deaths*) and France, now reporting 2, 909,565 confirmed cases, 69, 450 patients have been killed by the virus, while 212, 728 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving France with 2, 627, 387 active cases of Coronavirus(21, 353 new and 282 deaths*).
Turkey is the 7th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 2, 364, 801 all time cases, 23, 495 deaths and 2,236,938 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 104,368 active cases of Coronavirus(8962 new and 170 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 2, 336,279 all time cases, 80, 848 patients are no more, while 1, 694,051 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 561, 380 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 243 new and 522 deaths*) and Spain which has registered 2, 211,967 all time infections, 53, 079 deaths, while 150, 376 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 008, 512 Coronavirus cases(35, 878 new and 201 deaths*).
Germany remains the 10th country most hit by the virus, reporting 2, 003,991 confirmations, 44, 672 patients are already dead, while 1, 644,388 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving Germany with 314, 931 active cases of Coronavirus(22, 978 new and 1068 deaths*) and South Africa which has registered 1, 278,303 all time cases, 35, 140 patients are no more, while 1, 030,930 others have been treated and discharged, leaving South Africa with 212,233 active cases of Coronavirus.
