LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 964 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 121, 566 cases. But out of the 121, 566 confirmed cases, 97,228 patients have been treated and discharged, while  1,504 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 22, 834 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-360, FCT-88, Ogun-73, Imo-72, Kaduna-67, Plateau-57, Abia-41, Osun-41, Rivers-32, Kano-26, Niger-24, Benue-23, Edo-20, Cross River-20, Akwa Ibom-8, Nasarawa-6, Zamfara-6, Ekiti-6 and Jigawa-4

Globally, there are now 99, 105,389 confirmed cases, 2, 127,206 patients are no more while 54, 661, 143 patients have been treated and discharged. There are now 42, 317, 040 active cases worldwide based on data released by Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the Centre, the US remains the most affected country, reporting 25, 109, 148 confirmed cases, while 418,982 patients have passed on followed by India which has reported 10, 654, 533 confirmed cases, 153, 339 deaths while 10, 316, 786 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving  India with 184, 408  active cases of Coronavirus, followed by Brazil which has documented 8, 844, 577 confirmed cases, 217, 037 deaths, while 7, 817,719 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving Brazil with 809, 829 active cases of Coronavirus.

Russia, still the 4th most afflicted country has documented 3,679,247 all time cases, 68, 397 deaths and 3, 098, 505 recoveries, leaving Russia with 512, 345 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by the United Kingdom, which has reported 3, 657, 857 confirmed cases, 98, 129 patients have passed on while only 8, 946 patients have been assisted to recovery, leaving the UK with 3, 550, 782 Coronavirus patients and France which has documented 3, 112,055 cases, 73, 190 patients are no more, while   223, 080 people  have been saved from dying, leaving France with 2, 815, 785 Coronavirus patients.

Spain has come up as the 7th country most hit by the virus, reporting 2, 499, 560 confirmed cases,  55, 441 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 others have recovered, leaving Spain with 2, 293, 743 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by  Italy which has documented 2, 466,813 confirmations,  85, 461 deaths and 1, 882, 074 recoveries, leaving Italy with 499, 278 active cases of Coronavirus and Turkey which has confirmed 2, 429,605  all time cases, 25, 073 deaths and 2, 307,721 recoveries, leaving Turkey with 96, 811 active cases of Coronavirus.

Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting 2, 147,814 all time cases,  52, 168 deaths, while 1, 828,106 others have recovered and therefore discharged, leaving Germany with 267, 540 active cases of Coronavirus and South Africa now 15th worst hit with 1, 412,986 confirmations, 40, 874 deaths and 1, 230,520  recoveries, leaving South Africa with 141, 593 active cases of Coronavirus.
