LAGOS, Nigeria -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 864 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 127, 024. But out of the 127, 024 confirmed cases, 100, 853 patients have been treated and discharged while 1547 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 24, 624 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows: FCT-129, Anambra-87, Rivers-82, Benue-80, Oyo-76, Plateau-61, Kaduna-54, Delta-51, Nasarawa-38, Kwara-36 ,Edo-32, Katsina-26, Kano-24, Taraba-18, Ogun-14, Sokoto-11, Gombe-10, Jigawa-7, Akwa Ibom-6, Cross River-6, Zamfara-5, Bauchi-5, Osun-4 and Ekiti-2, making a total of 864 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 101,253,267 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 2, 184,718 patients have been killed by the pandemic, while 55, 946, 747 others have been treated and discharged – the world is now left with 42, 121, 802 active cases of Coronavirus based on the latest statistics uploaded by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected country, reporting 25,708,124 confirmations, while 431,882 others have lost their lives to the virus(112, 125 new and 2687 deaths*), followed by India which has confirmed 10, 701, 193 cases, 153, 847 patients are already dead, while 10, 373, 606 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving India with 173, 740 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 666 new*) and Brazil which has confirmed 8, 996,876 all time cases, 220, 161 deaths and 7, 979, 513 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 797, 202 active cases of Coronavirus.
The United Kingdom has moved up, now the 4th country most hit, reporting 3, 754, 447 confirmed cases, 103, 324 deaths, while 9, 347 others have recovered, leaving the UK with 3, 641, 776 Coronavirus cases(28, 819 new and 1239 deaths*), followed by Russia which has reported 3, 752, 548 confirmed cases, 70, 533 patients have passed on, while 3, 194,825 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Russia with 487, 190 active cases of Coronavirus(18, 856 new and 562 deaths*) and France which has confirmed 3, 166,107 all time infections, 74, 601 patients are already dead, while 226, 772 others have recovered and subsequently discharged, leaving France with 2, 867, 734 active cases of Coronavirus(658 new and 1 death*).
Spain remains the 7th country worst hit, reporting 2, 705, 001 confirmations, 57, 806 patients have lost their lives, while 150, 376 others have been discharged, leaving Spain with 2, 496, 819 active cases of Coronavirus(34, 899 new and 515 deaths*), followed by Italy which has documented 2, 515, 507 confirmed cases, 87, 381 deaths, while 1, 953, 509 others have been discharged, leaving Italy with 474, 617 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 360 new and 492 deaths*) and Turkey which has reported 2, 457,118 cases, 25, 605 patients are already dead, while 2, 340,216 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Turkey with 91, 297 active cases of Coronavirus(7279 new and 127 deaths*).
Germany is still the 10th country most affected, reporting 2, 194, 545 confirmations, 55, 450 patients have passed on while 1, 903, 113 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 235, 982 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 866 new and 952 deaths*) and South Africa(15th) most affected, reporting 1, 437, 798 confirmations, 43, 105 deaths, while 1, 272, 197 others have recovered, leaving South Africa with 122, 496 active cases of Coronavirus(7150 new and 555 deaths*).
