LAGOS, Nigeria – Authorities at First City Monument Bank, FCMB have reacted to petition sent to the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN) calling for the sack of Managing Director of the bank, Mr. Adam Nuru for alleged unethical behavior.
Adam Nuru allegedly cornered pretty Moyo Thomas, his subordinate at FCMB and the wife of Tunde Thomas( who also worked at FCMB before his death) and impregnated her on two occasions resulting in the birth of two children.
Tunde Thomas, according to the petition, who has been promoted to the position of Director continued taking care of the children not knowing that they were not his until Moyo Thomas, his wife travelled to the United States and informed him that the children he has labored for all the while were actually not his but that of Adam Nuru.
News of this development threw Tunde Thomas off-balance. He into depression. Stroke set in. He is said to have recovered but gave up the ghost, which many have connected to his marital hullaballoo.
A copy of the petition signed by 1, 455 people at CHANGE.ORG reads as follows: “Tunde Thomas died recently like about a week or 2 from Depression. Apparently, kids from his marriage to Moyo Thomas belongs to wife’s boss (Adam Nuru, the current MD of FCMB).
“Moyo Thomas left Tunde to go to America with the kids, she told him kids were not his when she got to America. He was later down with stroke but recovered.
“Apparently, Tunde met someone else he was going to remarry but apparently didn’t recover from the first Marriage issues. Tunde was just made director for the MFB he works for. Got back from work last week and had a cardiac arrest 2 days before introduction to pregnant new girlfriend.
Reacting to the development, Group Head, Corporate Affairs, FCMB, Mr. Diran Olojo, said the bank was aware of the allegations making the rounds against its MD and that bank’s board of directors had already commenced a review into the matter, adding that its findings would be disclosed in due course.
“We are aware of several stories circulating across several media platforms about our bank’s Managing Director, Adam Nuru, a former employee Ms Moyo Thomas and her deceased ex husband, Mr Tunde Thomas.
“While this is a personal matter, the tragedy of the death of Mr Tunde Thomas and the allegations of unethical conduct, require the bank’s board to conduct a review of what transpired, any violations of our code of ethics and the adequacy of these code of conduct ethics.
This will be done immediately. We enjoin all our stakeholders to bear with us as we conduct this review and to please respect the various families involved. Our Board of Directors is reviewing all aspects of this report and once they are done with their review, we will revert to you”, Diran Olojo told Sahara Reporters.
But we gathered that the board of First City Monument Bank may not sack Adam Nuru against public expectations. According to a retired banker, “FCMB may not sack Adam Nuru for allowing the couple to work together in the same organisation if the bank was not officially informed that they are a legal couple.
“More so, unethical conducts occur in most organisations, but the code of conduct is violated when such unethical sexual conduct is forced or occurred under durex, ie, you will lose your job if you failed to give in. If the case of Adam Nuru and Mrs Thomas is consensual, then in no way might it be a violation of the code of conduct of the bank, although it does not make it right as it is purely adultery”.
