USA still leads in new cases of Coronavirus as active cases cross 33. 2 million globally

LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has reported 838 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 84,414. But out of the 84,414 total confirmed cases, 71,034 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, while 1,254 others could not make it alive. Active cases in Nigeria has now risen to 12, 126.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, FCT-297, Lagos-253, Plateau-82, Kaduna-57, Katsina-32, Nasarawa-31, Kano-25, Gombe-24, Oyo-8, Rivers-8, Zamfara-7, Ogun-4, Bauchi-4, Edo-4, Anambra-1 and Sokoto-1, making a total of 838 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

There are now 80,642,813 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 1, 762,303 patients have lost their lives, while 45,592,135 others have been treated successfully and discharged. There are now 33, 288, 375 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country, reporting 19, 073, 662 all time cases, 332, 723 deaths but recoveries have not been disclosed in the last 5 days probably to conceal active cases(175,882 new cases), followed by India which has reported 10, 187, 850 confirmed cases, 147, 622 deaths and 9, 761,538 recoveries, leaving India with 278, 690 active cases of Coronavirus(18, 732 new cases) and Brazil which has reported 7, 465,806 confirmed cases, 190,795 deaths and 6, 654,189 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 620, 822 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 246 new cases).
Russia remains the 4th country worst hit with 3,019,972 confirmed cases, 54, 080 patients are already dead, while 2, 426,094 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 539, 798 active cases of Coronavirus(27, 849 new cases) followed by France with 2, 608,277 confirmed cases, 62, 694 deaths and 195,638 recoveries, leaving France with 2, 349, 945 active cases of Coronavirus(589 new cases) and the United Kingdom which has documented 2, 295, 143 all time cases, 70, 860 deaths and 4, 944 recoveries, leaving the UK with 2, 219, 339 patients still down with the Coronavirus praying for divine intervention to overcome the pandemic(32, 428 new cases).
Turkey remains the 7th country worst hit, reporting 2, 147, 578 confirmed cases, 19, 878 deaths, while 2,015,230 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Turkey with 112, 470 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 205 new cases), followed by Italy which has reported 2, 047, 696 confirmed cases, 71, 925 patients have passed on while 1, 394, 011 others have recovered, leaving Italy with 581, 760 active cases of Coronavirus(8, 937 new cases) and Spain which has documented 1, 854, 951 all time infections, 49, 824 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, since June 2020, leaving Spain with 1, 654, 751 active cases of Coronavirus.
Germany has occupied the 10th country worst hit, reporting 1, 658, 615 confirmations, 30, 033 patients have passed on while 1, 255, 896 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Germany with 372, 686 active cases of Coronavirus(12, 375 new cases) and South Africa*(SA), now the 18th most afflicted country with 1, 004,413 all time cases, 26, 735 deaths and 844, 874 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 132, 804 active cases of Coronavirus(21, 054 new cases).
