LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control,(NCDC) has confirmed 712 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 82,747. But out of the 82,747 all time cases, 70,239 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, while 1,246 others could not make it alive. Nigeria is now left with 11,262 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-388, FCT-77, Kwara-39, Katsina-35, Bauchi-33, Plateau-22, Ogun-18, Akwa Ibom-16, Delta-13, Kaduna-12, Osun-12, Yobe-11, Sokoto-10, Kebbi-8, Enugu-6, Edo-5, Ondo-3, Niger-2, Kano-1 and Oyo-1, making a total of 712 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

There are now 79,705, 275 confirmed cases of Coronavirus globally, 1, 747, 531 patients are already dead, while 44, 923, 385 others have recovered. There are now 33, 034, 359 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the Centre, the United States remains the most afflicted country worldwide, reporting 18, 726, 960 confirmed cases, 329, 798 deaths but refused to report the number of recoveries, so as to conceal the total number of active cases within(140, 086 new cases), followed by India, which has reported 10, 146, 845 confirmed cases, 147, 092 deaths and 9, 717, 834 recoveries, leaving India with 231, 919 active cases of Coronavirus(23, 067 new cases) and Brazil which has confirmed 7, 425, 593 all time cases, 190,006 patients have passed on while 6, 512, 717 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Brazil with 722, 870 active cases of Coronavirus(1, 648 new cases).
Russia is the 4th country worst hit by the virus, reporting 2, 963,290 all time cases, 52, 985 patients are no more, while 2, 374, 589 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Russia with 535, 716 active cases of Coronavirus(28, 595 new cases), followed by France with 2, 604, 595 confirmations, 62, 548 patients have passed on while 195, 365 others are now hale and hearty, leaving France with 2, 346, 682 patients still down with Coronavirus, hoping for the best of medical care to keep living(20, 346 new cases) and the United Kingdom, which has documented 2, 227, 947 all time cases, 70, 302 patients have lost their lives to the virus, while only 4,822 patients have been fortunate to survive the ailment, leaving the UK with 2, 152, 823 active cases of Coronavirus(32, 834 new cases).
Turkey remains the 7th country worst hit, reporting 2, 118,255 all time infections, 19, 371 patients are no more, while 1, 970,803 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Turkey with 128, 081 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 543 new cases), followed by Italy with 2, 028,354 confirmed cases, 71, 359 deaths and 1, 377, 109 recoveries, leaving Italy with 579, 886 active cases of Coronavirus(19,037 new cases) and Spain with 1, 854,951 confirmations, 49, 824 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries since June, 2020, leaving Spain with 1, 654, 751 active cases of Coronavirus.
Germany remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting 1, 632,512 confirmations, 29, 389 deaths, while 1, 221,208 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Germany with 381, 916 active cases of Coronavirus(19,001 new cases) and South Africa(18th) country worst hit by the virus, reporting 968, 563 all time cases, 25, 983 patients are already dead, while 822, 978 patients have recovered, leaving South Africa with 119, 602 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 305 new cases).
