LAGOS, Nigeria- The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 999 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 79,789. But out of the 79,789 all time cases, 68,879 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, while 1,231 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 9679 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, FCT-416, Lagos-324, Kaduna-68, Plateau-42, Kwara-32, Kano-24, Gombe-14, Sokoto-12, Yobe-12, Akwa Ibom-11, Bayelsa-10, Rivers-7, Bauchi-7, Ogun-6, Oyo-5, Edo-4, Taraba-4 and Jigawa-1, making a total of 999 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 77,801, 721 confirmed cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 1, 713, 109 deaths, while 43, 894, 903 others have been treated successfully and discharged. The world is now left with 32, 693, 709 active cases of Coronavirus, based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to Johns Hopkins, the United States remains the worst hit country, reporting 18, 168,777 confirmed cases and 322, 611deaths(221, 133 new cases), followed by India which has confirmed 10, 075, 116 all time cases, 146, 111 deaths and 9, 636,487 recoveries, leaving India with 292, 518 active cases of Coronavirus(19, 556 new cases) and Brazil which has reported 7, 263, 619 all time infections, 187, 291 deaths and 6, 492,985 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 583, 343 active cases of Coronavirus(25, 019 new cases).
Russia remains the 4th country worst hit, reporting 2, 878, 382 confirmed cases, 51, 274 patients are already dead, while 2, 297, 289 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 529, 819 active cases of Coronavirus(28, 340 new cases), followed by France which has documented 2, 547, 512 all time cases, 61, 821 deaths and 191,892 recoveries, leaving France with 2, 293, 799 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 959 new cases), followed by the United Kingdom which has reported 2, 116, 573 all time cases, 68, 409 patients are already dead, while only 4, 392 patients have been assisted to the point of recovery, leaving the UK with 2, 043, 772 patients still down with the Coronavirus, praying for divine intervention to save their lives(36, 900 new cases).
Turkey has settled down as the 7th country worst hit, reporting 2, 062, 960 all time cases, 18, 602 patients are no more, while 1, 866, 815 others have recovered, leaving Turkey with 177, 543 active cases of Coronavirus(19, 256 new cases), followed by Italy, which has reported 1, 977,370 confirmed cases, 69, 842 deaths, while 1, 301,573 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Italy with 605, 955 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 316 new cases) and Spain which has reported 1, 829, 903 all time cases, 49, 520 deaths, while 150, 376 remains the constant figure that has recovered since June 2020, leaving Spain with 1, 630, 007 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 654 new cases).
Germany has come up as the 10th country most hit, reporting 1, 556, 575 all time cases, 27, 590 deaths and 1, 150,976 recoveries, , leaving Germany with 378, 009 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by Argentina , reporting 1, 547, 138 all time cases, 41, 997 patients are already dead, while 1, 374, 401 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Argentina with 130, 740 active cases of Coronavirus(5853 new cases) and South Africa, the 18th country worst hit with 940,212 all time cases, 25, 246 deaths and 808, 241 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 106, 725 active cases of Coronavirus(9, 501 new cases).
