LAGOS -The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control(NCDC) has confirmed 1,016 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases in the country to 86,576. But out of the 86,576 all time cases, 73,322 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, while 1,278 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 976 active and 11 deaths in 24 hours.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-434, FCT-155, Plateau-94, Kaduna-56, Rivers-56, Oyo-30, Nasarawa-27, Zamfara-25, Abia-22, Enugu-18, Kano-18, Bayelsa-15, Edo-14, Ogun-11, Borno-10, Ebonyi-10, Jigawa-7, Anambra-4, Delta-3, Niger-3 and Osun-3, making a total of 1, 016 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 82,456,204 confirmed cases of Coronavirus globally, 1, 799,493 people have been killed by the virus, while 46,586, 648 others have recovered, leaving the world with 34, 069, 908 active cases of Coronavirus based on current statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to JHU, the United States has been afflicted more than any other nation in terms of total number affected and the number of deaths. Specifically, the United States of America has documented 19,653, 653 all time cases, 340, 956 deaths, no statistics for total recovery(184, 882 new cases, 7,746 deaths in 24 hours), followed by India, which has reported 10, 244, 852 all time cases, 148, 439 deaths and 9, 834,141 recoveries, leaving India with 262, 272 active cases of Coronavirus(20, 549 new and 286 deaths*)and Brazil which has reported 7, 563,551 confirmed cases,192, 681 people have been killed by the virus while 6, 770,628 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Brazil with 600, 242 active cases of Coronavirus(58, 718 new and 1, 111 deaths in 24 hours ).
Russia remains the 4th country most hit by the virus with 3, 100,018 cases already recorded, 55, 692 people have been killed by the virus, while 2, 449,465 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Russia with 594, 861 active cases of Coronavirus(26, 095 new and 585 deaths*), followed by France which has reported 2, 657,568 confirmed cases, 64, 507 people already dead, while 198, 966 others have recovered, leaving France with 2, 394, 095 patients still suffering from Coronavirus(26, 557 new and 303 deaths in 24 hours )and the United Kingdom, which has reported 2, 440, 169 all time cases, 72,656 people have died from the virus, while only 5, 336 people have been assisted successfully to the point of recovery, leaving the UK with 2, 362, 177 Coronavirus patients, hoping for the best to keep living(50, 243 new and 981 deaths in 24 hours).
Turkey is now the 7th country most hit, reporting 2, 194,272 all time cases, 20, 642 deaths have been recorded, while 2, 078, 629 people have been assisted medically and discharged, leaving Turkey with 95, 001 active cases of Coronavirus(15, 692 new and 254 deaths*), followed by Italy which has reported 2, 083,689 confirmed cases, 73, 604 people have been killed by Coronavirus, while 1, 445,690 others have regained their health and consequently discharged, leaving Italy with 564, 395 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 202 new and 575 deaths in 24 hours) and Spain, which has documented 1, 910, 218 all time cases, 50, 689 people have died, while 150, 376 others have recovered since June 2020(the figure is questionable), leaving Spain with 1, 709, 153 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 716 new and 247 deaths*).
Germany comes in as the 10th country worst hit by the virus, with 1, 719,816 confirmations, 32, 665 deaths and 1, 324,610 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 362, 541 active cases, (28,061 new 1,010 deaths*) and South Africa(17) which has reported 1, 039,161 confirmed cases, 28, 033 people have been killed by the virus, while 867, 597 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving South Africa with 143, 531 active cases of Coronavirus(17, 710 new and 465 deaths*).
