LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC) has reported 343 new cases of Coronavirus, the highest in a very long time, bringing all time cases to 68,303. But out of the 68,303  all time cases,   64,291 patients have been treated successfully and  discharged, while  1,179  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 2833 active cases.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, FCT-123,  Lagos-106,  Kaduna-72,  Nasarawa-14,  Rivers-5,  Bauchi-4,  Imo-4,  Ogun-4,  Ekiti-3,  Edo-2,  Oyo-2,  Plateau-2 , Akwa Ibom-1 and Kano-1, making a total of 343 new cases of Coronavirus.

 There are now 64, 964,775 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 1,501, 758 lives have been claimed by the virus, while 41, 699, 652 others have been treated successfully and discharged. There are now 21, 763, 365  active cases of Coronavirus globally, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, (JHU), Maryland has reported.

According to the centre, the United States of America remains  the most affected country, reporting a new peak of 14, 053, 183 confirmed cases, 275, 201 deaths, while 5, 322,128 others have recovered, leaving the USA with 8, 455, 854 active cases of Coronavirus(191, 940 new cases), followed by India which has confirmed 9, 534, 964 cases, 138, 648 deaths, while 8,973, 373 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving India with 422, 943 active cases of Coronavirus(85, 551 new cases) and Brazil with 6, 436,650 all time cases, 174, 515 patients are already dead, while 5, 759, 294 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 502, 841 active cases of Coronavirus(49, 863 new cases).

Russia remains the 4th country most afflicted, reporting 2, 354,934 all time infections,  41,173 patients  are no more, while   1, 843, 526 others are now hale and hearty, leaving Russia with 469, 235 active cases of Coronavirus(27, 829 new cases) followed by France with  2, 310, 089 all time cases, 54, 230 deaths and 172,574 recoveries, leaving France with 2, 083, 285 active cases of Coronavirus(34, 612 new cases) and United Kingdom, which has reported 1, 678, 415 confirmed cases,  60, 210 lives have been lost to the virus, while only 3,622 patients have been able to survive the pandemic since the outset, leaving the UK with 1, 614, 583 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 954 new cases).

Spain has been pushed to the 7th country most hit, reporting 1, 675, 902 total cases so far recorded, 46, 033 deaths and 150, 376 patients remains  those that have recovered since June, showing Spain as another country with  very poor  rate of recovery like the UK. Spain is however left with 1, 482, 493 active cases of Coronavirus(10, 127 new cases), followed by  Italy which has documented  1, 664,  829  all time cases of Coronavirus, 58, 038 deaths and 846, 809 recoveries, leaving Italy with 759, 982  active cases of Coronavirus(23, 219 new cases) and  Argentina which has reported 1, 440, 103 confirmations, 39, 156 patients are already dead, while  1, 268,358 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Argentina with 132, 589 active cases of Coronavirus(7, 533 new cases).

Colombia remains the 10th country worst hit, reporting  1, 334,089 confirmations, 37, 117 deaths and  1, 225, 635 recoveries, leaving Colombia with 71, 337 active cases of Coronavirus(9, 287 new cases) and South Africa now the 16th country most hit by the virus, reporting 796, 472 all time cases, 21, 803 deaths, while 739,367 others have regained their health, leaving South Africa with 35, 302 active cases of Coronavirus.
