ONITSHA, Anambra, Nigeria – The Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps NYSC Anambra State, Mr.Kehinde Aremu has inaugurated the COVID-19 Compliance &Sanitation Vanguard at the Anambra Orientation Camp, Umuawulu Mbaukwu.
Inaugurating the vanguard, Aremu charged the members with the dual responsibility of educating the camp community on the dangers of the virus as well as enforcing compliance of the COVID-19 safety protocols.
He said that the Vanguard is backed with enormous powers to bring to book any of their colleagues who would run foul of the the laws governing the compliance of the COVID-19 safety protocols, such as wearing of face masks, regular washing of hands and the proper use of the wash-hand basins and soap provided at strategic points in the camp.
The Coordinator further said that the camp management has zero tolerance for indiscriminate trashing of waste. He therefore empowered them as the most powerful group aside the camp officials, while mandating them to use the powers conferred on them to deliver on the assignment given to them.
Members of the Vanguard are drawn from the ten platoons in the camp.
