LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 397 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 84,811. But out of the 84,811 all time cases, 71,357 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, while 1,264 others could not make it alive. Active cases in Nigeria are now 12,190.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-144, Plateau-83, Kaduna-48, Adamawa-36, Rivers-22, Oyo-16, Kebbi-10, Nasarawa-7, Sokoto-7, FCT-5, Kano-5, Edo-4, Jigawa-3, Ogun-2, Akwa Ibom-2, Niger-1, Bauchi-1 and Zamfara-1, making a total of 397 new cases of Coronavirus.

There are now 81, 114,788 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide, 1, 770,562 patients are already dead, while 45,867,925 others have been treated successfully and discharged. The world is now left with 33, 476, 301 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on the latest statistics released by the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.
According to the centre, the United States remains the country worst hit by Coronavirus, reporting 19, 228,424 all time cases of the virus, 334, 116 patients have died on US soil alone, authorities are no longer publishing total recoveries, thereby shielding active cases in the US,(154, 762 new cases). India which is the next country most hit by the virus has documented 10,207,871 confirmed cases, 147, 901 patients are now dead, while 9, 782, 669 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving India with 277, 301 active cases of Coronavirus(20, 021 new cases) and Brazil which has reported 7, 484, 285 all time cases, 191, 139 patients are no more, while 6, 692,236 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 600, 910 active cases of Coronavirus in Brazil(18, 479 new cases).
Russia is the 4th country most affected, reporting 3, 047,335 all time infections, 54, 559 patients have been killed by the virus, while 2, 446,412 others have recovered, leaving Russia with 546, 364 active cases of Coronavirus(27, 363 new cases), followed by France with 2, 619,470 confirmed cases, 63, 230 patients have passed on, while 196,642 others have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 2, 359, 598 Coronavirus patients(11, 193 new cases) and the United Kingdom, which has reported 2, 336, 658 confirmed cases, 71, 217 patients have been killed by the virus, while only 5, 100 patients have been assisted to the point of recovery since March when UK experienced the first hit. The UK is now left with 2, 260, 341 patients currently down with Coronavirus, praying for divine intervention to come out alive,(41, 415 new cases).
Turkey remains the 7th country most hit by the virus, reporting 2, 162,775 all time cases, 20, 135 patients are no more, while 2, 037,433 patients have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving Turkey with 105, 207 active cases of Coronavirus(16, 197 new cases), followed by Italy, which has reported 2, 056, 277 all time cases, 72, 370 patients have been killed by the virus, while 1, 408,686 others have recovered, leaving Italy with 575, 221 active cases of Coronavirus(8581 new cases) and Spain, which has documented 1, 879,413 all time cases, 50, 122 patients are no more, while 150, 376{constant figure} since June 2020, have recovered. Spain is now left with about 1, 678, 915 active cases of Coronavirus (24, 462 new cases).
Germany has settled down as the 10th country worst hit by the Coronavirus pandemic, reporting 1, 672, 584 all time cases, 30, 508 patients are already dead, no thanks to Coronavirus, while 1, 276,459 others have recovered, leaving Germany with 365, 617 active cases of Coronavirus(13, 969 new cases) and South Africa(18th) country worst hit, reporting 1,004, 413 all time infections, 26, 735 deaths and 844, 874 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 132, 804 active cases of Coronavirus.
