ONITSHA, Anambra – The State Executive of Sustenance of Faith in Governance, SOFIG, has  commenced the process of shopping for possible credible replacement for Willie  Obiano, comes 2021.

The group which was  inaugurated in Awka Anambra State capital called on Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu to come out and contest for the governor.

SOFIG is a pressure group concerned about good governance in Anambra State as tool to improve lives and livelihoods of people.

It was gathered that the event attracted members and other stakeholders from all parts of the State.

In his speech, the President of the Association, Honorable Kingsley Ezekwelu, noted that Governor Willie Obiano and his wife, Dr Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano, have raised the bar of good governance in the State to higher level and needed a person of good character to replace him.

According to Mr. Ezekwelu, the Governor has launched the state on course for sustainable development while the wife through CAFÉ, has continued charity work that has touched many lives and reduced poverty., noting that there is need to elect worthy successor to consolidate on his achievements.

He recalled the remarkable contributions of an APGA Chieftain and former Federal Lawmaker Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu in physical and human capital development as well as Iniatives towards accelerating industrial development.

Mr. Ezekwelu noted that in addition to his scholarship schemes that have benefited many children and youths, his industries have equally helped in tackling challenge of youth unemployment.

Also speaking, the State Chairperson of the Association, Lady Ngozi Agbata, noted that Obiano’s administration has restored people’s confidence in governance and described Prince Ukachukwu as an outstanding philanthropist who has continued to touch lives in the society in various ways.

Earlier the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Simon Izuorah, stressed the need for collective efforts to entrench good governance through supporting People with vision and fear of God.

Among dignitaries at the event were the member representing Njikoka One Constituency at the State House of Assembly Honourable Timothy Ifedioramma.
