LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC has confirmed 246 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing all time cases in the country to 66,228. But out of the 66,228 confirmed cases, 61,884 patients have been treated and discharged while 1,166 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 3178 active cases, #coronavirusnigeria.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-66, Plateau-63, Abuja-48, Kaduna-21, Bayelsa-19, Rivers-12, Niger-9, Ogun-4, Ekiti-2, Bauchi-1 and Osun-1, making a total of 246 new cases.

On the global scene, there seems to be no end in sight for the ravaging Coronavirus pandemic as cases continue to rise. There are currently 57, 932, 313 all time cases, 1, 377, 978 deaths and 37, 056, 212 recoveries worldwide. There are now 19, 498, 123 active cases of Coronavirus worldwide based on current statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, JHU, Maryland.
According to JHU, the United States of America remains the most afflicted country both in the total number affected and casualty so far. Specially, there are 12, 019, 960 all time cases in the United States of America, 255, 414 deaths, while 4, 457,930 others have been treated and discharged, leaving the USA with 7, 306, 616 persons down with the infection hoping for the best of medical care to come out alive,(165, 757 new cases) followed by India which has reported 9,050, 597 all time cases, 132, 726 patients have passed on while 8, 478, 124 others have been treated successfully and discharged, leaving India with 439, 747 active cases of Coronavirus(46, 232 new cases) and Brazil which has reported 6, 020, 164 all time infections, 168, 613 deaths and 5, 430, 896 recoveries, leaving Brazil with 420, 655 active cases of Coronavirus(38, 397 new cases).
France stands as the 4th country most affected, reporting 2, 160,372 cases since the outset of the pandemic, 48, 341 deaths, while 155, 831 patients have been treated and discharged, leaving France with 1, 956, 200 patients hoping for the best to keep living(394 new cases), followed by Russia which has documented 2, 047, 563 all time cases, 35, 442 deaths, while 1, 564, 897 others have recovered. Russia is now left with 447, 224 active cases of Coronavirus(24, 538 new cases) and Spain which has reported 1, 556, 730 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 42, 619 patients are already dead, while 150, 376 patients have recovered since the outset of the pandemic, leaving Spain with 1, 363, 735 active cases of Coronavirus.
The United Kingdom remains the 7th country most afflicted with 1, 497,129 confirmed cases, 54, 721 patients have been killed by Coronavirus, while 3,310 patients have been lucky to survive the afflictions, leaving the UK with 1, 439, 098 active cases of Coronavirus(19, 916 new cases), followed by Italy, which has reported 1, 380, 531 all time cases, 49, 261 patients are no more, while 539, 306 others have been discharged, leaving Italy with 791, 964 active cases of the pandemic(34, 764 new cases) and Argentina which has confirmed 1, 359,042 cases, 36, 790 deaths, while 1, 177, 819 others have recovered, leaving Argentina with 144, 433 active cases of Coronavirus(9, 608 new cases).
Colombia now stands as the 10th country most affected by the pandemic, confirming 1, 233, 444 all time cases, 34, 929 deaths, while 1, 138,581 others have been treated and discharged, leaving Colombia with 59,934 active cases of the pandemic(7, 954 new cases) and South Africa, now the 16th most affected country with 765, 409 all time infections, 20, 845 deaths and 707,784 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 36, 780 active cases of Coronavirus(2, 646 new cases).
