LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 221 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 56,956.
But out of the 56,956 confirmed cases, 48,305 patients have been discharged, while 1,094 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 7, 557 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-59, Abia-46, Abuja-22, Gombe-20, Plateau-17, Rivers-11, Bauchi-7, Benue-6, Ekiti-6, Imo-6, Kaduna-4, Kwara-4, Ondo-4, Ogun-3, Osun-3, Bayelsa-1, Edo-1 and Kano-1, making a total of the 221 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

Globally, confirmed cases of Coronavirus currently stand at 30, 319, 277, while 948,472 patients have passed on while 30, 629,277 others have recovered, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland has reported.

According to the centre, the U.S has 6,713, 179 all time cases, 198, 407 patients have died, while 2, 540, 334 others have survived, leaving the US with 3, 974, 438 patients to treat for Coronavirus(49, 158 cases in 24 hours), followed by India with 5, 214, 677 confirmed cases, 84, 372 dead, while 4, 112,551 others have recovered, leaving India with 1, 017, 754 patients to assist to recovery(96, 424 cases in 24 hours), followed by Brazil with 4, 455,386 all time cases, 134, 935 dead, while 3, 873, 934 others have overcome the pandemic, leaving Brazil with 44, 517 active cases of the pandemic(36, 303 cases in the last 24 hours).
Russia, 4th country most hit by the pandemic has reported 1, 086, 955 confirmed cases, 19, 128 dead, while 898, 420 others have been able to defeat the pandemic, leaving Russia with 169, 407 patients to treat for the virus, followed by Peru with 750, 098 all time cases, 31, 146 dead already, while 594,513 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Peru with 124, 439 active cases of Coronavirus(5, 698 cases in the last 24 hours), followed by Colombia with 743, 945 confirmed cases, 23, 665 patients already dead, while 615, 457 others have been assisted to full recovery, leaving Colombia with 104, 823 patients down with the virus requiring medical attention(7, 568 cases in the last 24 hours).
Mexico comes up as the 7th country most hit by the pandemic with 684, 113 all time cases, 72, 179 deaths, while 579,145 patients have received healing, leaving Mexico with 32, 789 patients to manage for the virus(3, 182 cases in 24 hours), followed by South Africa which has documented 657, 627 all time cases, 15, 857 already dead, while 586, 844 others have been declared healthy, leaving South Africa with 54, 926 cases to assist to the point of recovery(2, 055 new cases) and Spain with 640, 040 confirmed cases, 30, 495 patients have given up the ghost, while over 150, 376 patients have been discharged, leaving Spain with about 459, 169 active cases of Coronavirus(14, 389 cases in the last 24 hours).

Argentina remains the 10th country worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 601, 713 all time cases, 12, 491 patients are no more, while 467, 286 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Argentina with 121, 936 patients down with virus requiring medical attention to get back on their feet(12, 701 cases in the last 24 hours), followed by France which has documented 467, 409 confirmed cases, 31, 257 sick people have passed on, while 92, 499 others have been able to survive the virus, leaving France with 343, 501 Coronavirus patients hoping for the best to get back on their feet(13, 310 cases in the last 24 hours) and Chile with 442, 827 confirmed cases, 12, 199 patients have kicked the bucket, while 415, 981 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Chile with 14, 647 active cases of Coronavirus(1, 677 new cases).
Iran now stands as the 13th most afflicted country with 416, 198 all time cases of the pandemic, 23, 952 patients already dead, while 355, 505 others are now healthy, leaving Iran with 36, 741 patients to treat for the pandemic, followed by the United Kingdom which has recorded 388, 412 all time cases, 41, 821 patients are already dead, while only 2, 211 patients have been assisted to the point of recovery, leaving the U.K with 344, 380 active cases of Coronavirus(4, 337 cases in the last 24 hours) and Italy, now the 21 most affected country in the world with 294, 932 confirmed cases, 35, 668 patients already dead while 216, 807 others have recovered, leaving Italy with 42, 457 active cases of the pandemic(1, 907 new cases) , and China which has been pushed to 40th nations most affected globally with 90, 297 confirmed cases of the pandemic, 4, 737 patients already dead, while 85, 195 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving China with 365 active cases of Coronavirus.
