LAGOS, Nigeria – Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 79 new cases of Coronavirus, the lowest in months,  bringing all time cases to 56,256.

But out of the 56,256 confirmed cases, 44,152 patients have been discharged, while 1,082 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 11, 022  active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-30, Kaduna-17, Ogun-7 Anambra-5, Kano-4, Katsina-3, Abuja-3, Akwa Ibom-3,  Oyo-2,  Rivers-2, Delta-1, Plateau-1 and Ondo-1, making a total of 79 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

“NCDC@NCDCgov79 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-30, Kaduna-17, Ogun-7 Anambra-5, Kano-4, Katsina-3, FCT-3, Akwa Ibom-3,  Oyo-2,  Rivers-2, Delta-1, Plateau-1, Ondo-1; 56,256 confirmed 44,152 discharged 1,082 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.

 Meanwhile, all time cases of  the Coronavirus pandemic  has crossed the 28 million mark, with current figure standing at exactly 28, 855, 994 cases, 921, 698 patients have been killed by the pandemic, while 19, 511, 976 others have been able to survive the virus based on the latest statistics from the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland.

According to the centre, the United States remains the worst hit  both in terms of casualties and total number infected. Total confirmed cases in the United States now stand at 6, 515, 135 cases, 194, 021 patients already dead while  2, 434, 658  others have  managed to survive, leaving the U.S with 3, 886,  456 patients in need of medication to get back on their feet(40,648 new cases), followed by India which has reported 4, 754, 356 cases of the virus, 78, 586 lives have been claimed by the pandemic, while 3, 702, 595 others  received clean bill of health, leaving India with 973,  175 patients to treat for the virus(94, 372 new cases) and Brazil  which has documented 4, 315, 687 all time cases, 131, 210 lives lost to the pandemic, while 3, 723, 206 others have survived, leaving Brazil with 461, 271 active cases of Coronavirus(33, 523 new cases.

Russia, the 4th    nation worst hit by the virus has documented 1,069, 024  all time cases, 18, 517 patients have lost their lives, while 873, 684 others have been able to conquer the pandemic, leaving Russia with 176, 823 patients to attend to for Coronavirus, followed by  Peru with 722, 832  cases of Coronavirus recorded over time, 30, 526 lives have been lost, while 559, 321 patients have been discharged, leaving Peru with  132, 985 active cases of Coronavirus(6, 162 new cases) and Colombia which has documented 708, 964 confirmed cases of the pandemic,  22, 734 patients have died, while 592, 820  others have survived, leaving Colombia with 93, 410 patients to treat for Coronavirus(6, 876 new cases).

Mexico  currently stands as the 7th nation worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 663, 973 all time cases, 70, 604 patients  are no more, while 551, 113 others have survived, leaving Mexico with 42, 256 active cases of Coronavirus(5, 674 new cases), followed by South Africa which has reported 649,793 confirmed cases, 15, 447 lives lost to the virus, while 577, 906  others have been discharged, leaving South Africa with 56, 440  patients to treat for the pandemic(1,579 new cases) and Spain which has documented 566,326 all time cases of Coronavirus, 29, 747 deaths and 150, 376 recoveries, leaving Spain with 386, 203  active cases of Coronavirus.

Argentina  remains the 10th nation worst hit  by the pandemic, reporting 546, 481 all time cases, 11, 307 lives have been claimed by the pandemic, while 419, 513 others are fortunate to have survived, leaving Argentina with  115, 661 patients  in need of medical attention to get rid of the virus(10, 776 new cases), followed by Chile which has documented 434, 748 all time cases, 11, 949 deaths and 406, 326 recoveries, leaving Chile with 16, 473 Coronavirus patients to assist to recovery, followed by France with 402, 893  all time cases, 30, 903  deaths, while 90, 445 patients have been discharged,  leaving France with 281, 545 active cases of Coronavirus(83 new cases).

Iran, now the 13th country worst hit by the pandemic has documented 402, 029 confirmed cases, 23, 157 lives have been lost to the virus,  while 346, 242 others have been discharged leaving Iran with 32, 630 patients to treat for the pandemic, followed by the United Kingdom, which has documented 370, 928 all time cases, 41, 717 deaths, while on 1, 890 patients have been assisted to recovery, leaving the U.K with 327, 321 active cases of the virus(3,338 new cases) and Italy  now the 19th country worst hit by the virus with 287, 753  cases recorded over time, 35, 610 deaths and 213, 634 recoveries, leaving Italy with 38, 509 active cases of Coronavirus(1, 456 new cases).

China where the pandemic was first reported has been pushed to the 36th country worst hit by the pandemic with 90, 187 cases recorded over time, 4, 734 lives have been  lost to the virus, while 85,085 others have recovered, leaving China with 368 active cases of Coronavirus.
