LAGOS, Nigeria – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 216 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria; making a total of 54, 463 all time cases in the country.

But out of the  54, 463 confirmed cases, 42,439 patients have been discharged, while 1,027  others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 10, 997 active cases of Coronavirus.

Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Plateau-59, Rivers-27,  Abia-22, Lagos-20,  Oyo-18,  Enugu-17, Kaduna-11, FCT-11, Ogun-10,  Ebonyi-4,  Osun-4,  Ekiti-4, Delta-3, Edo-3, Akwa Ibom-2 and Bauchi-1, making a total of 216 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

However, there are currently 25,865,205 confirmed cases globally, 859, 478 deaths, while 17, 163, 241 patients have survived, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University has reported.

According to the centre, the United States remains the most afflicted globally in terms people affected and total casualties.

In specific terms, the United States now has 6, 110, 535  confirmed cases of Coronavirus,  185, 644 deaths, while  2, 202,  682 patients have been discharged, leaving the U.S with 3, 722, 209  active cases of Coronavirus(42, 396 new cases), followed by Brazil which has reported 3, 950,931 all time cases,  122, 596 deaths, while 3, 384, 705  patients have overcome the pandemic, leaving Brazil with 443, 690 active cases(42, 659 new cases), followed by India with 3, 769, 523 confirmed cases, 66, 333 deaths, while 2, 901, 908 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving India with 801, 282 patients in need of medication to overcome the pandemic(78, 357 new cases).

Russia now has 1,001,965 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 17, 365 deaths and   819, 043 recoveries, leaving Russia with 165, 557 Coronavirus patients (4, 893 new cases), followed by Peru with 657,129 all time cases, 29, 068 deaths, while 471, 599 patients have been discharged, leaving Peru with 156, 462 active cases of Coronavirus (6,092 new cases), followed by South Africa(6th) in the league of most affected countries. South Africa has reported 630, 595 confirmed cases,  14, 389 deaths, while 553, 456 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving South Africa with  62, 750  patients in the hospitals hoping to come out alive(2, 336 new cases).

Colombia is next with 624,069 cases,  20, 052 deaths, while  469, 557 others have been discharged, leaving Colombia with 134, 460 patients down with Coronavirus(9, 400 new cases),followed by  Mexico which has documented  606, 036 all time cases,  65, 241 deaths and 501, 722 recoveries, leaving Mexico with 39, 073 patients to treat for the pandemic(6, 476 new cases), followed by  Spain with 479, 554 confirmed cases, 29, 194 deaths, while  150, 376 patients have been declared healthy, leaving  Spain with 299, 984 patients down with the pandemic and in need of medical attention(8, 581 new cases).

In number 10 spot in the league is Argentina which has documented 428,239 all time cases of the pandemic, 8, 971 deaths, while 315,530 others have been able to survive the virus, leaving Argentina with 103, 738 patients to treat for Coronavirus(10, 504 new cases), followed by Chile with 414, 739 all time cases, 11, 344 deaths and  387, 683 recoveries, leaving Chile with  15, 712 patients down with the pandemic, followed by Iran with 378,752 all time cases of the pandemic,  21, 797 deaths, while  326, 801 patients have been discharged, leaving Iran with 30, 154 active cases of the pandemic.

The United Kingdom now pushed to the 13th spot in the league remains the worst affected in Europe in terms of number afflicted, casualties, coupled with nauseating slow recovery process. The United Kingdom has documented  340, 928 confirmed cases, 41, 602 deaths, while  only 1, 712 patients have recovered since the first cases was reported in the U.K, leaving it with a whole 297, 614 Coronavirus patients hoping for luck to get out of what appears to be a hopeless Coronavirus situation in the U.K,  (1, 543 new cases) followed by France with 330,985 all time cases of the pandemic, 30, 691 deaths and 87, 287 recoveries, leaving France with  213, 007 patients to manage for Coronavirus(7,017 new cases), followed by Italy in number 19 in the league.

Italy has reported 271, 515 confirmed cases, 35, 497 deaths, while 208, 201 others are now healthy, leaving Italy with 27, 817 patients to treat for Coronavirus (1, 326 new cases) and then China where the pandemic was first reported. China currently the 34th most affected country in the world has documented 89, 942 all time cases of the pandemic, 4, 726 deaths, while 84, 678 patients have recovered, leaving China with 538 patients to manage for Coronavirus.
