LAGOS, Nigeria- The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 188 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing all time cases to 56,017.
Out of the 56,017 all time cases, 43,998 patients have been discharged, while 1,076 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 10, 943 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-47, Enugu-25, Plateau-21, Abuja-14, Abia-11, Delta-10, Bauchi-8, Ondo-8, Kaduna-8, Ogun-6, Imo-5, Benue-4, Katsina-4, Taraba-4, Edo-3, Kwara-3, Oyo-3, Rivers-2 and Yobe-2, making a total of 188 new cases of Coronavirus.
“NCDC@NCDCgov188 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-47, Enugu-25, Plateau-21, FCT-14, Abia-11, Delta-10, Bauchi-8, Ondo-8, Kaduna-8, Ogun-6, Imo-5, Benue-4, Katsina-4, Taraba-4, Edo-3, Kwara-3, Oyo-3, Rivers-2, Yobe-2; 56,017 confirmed 43,998 discharged 1,076 deaths”, the NCDC said in a statement.
However, global cases of Coronavirus has moved up with the new record now standing at 28, 287, 928 confirmed cases, 911, 591deaths, with record of recoveries now standing at 19, 052, 460, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University has said.
The United States still stands atop nations worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 6,430, 860 all time cases, 192, 616 patients have given up the ghost, while 2, 403, 511 others are alive and kicking, leaving the U.S with 3, 834, 733 cases of Coronavirus(36, 205 new cases), followed by India, which has documented 4, 562, 414 confirmed cases, 76,271 patients have passed on, while 3, 542, 663 others have survived the pandemic, leaving India with 943, 480 active cases(96, 551 new cases), followed by Brazil with 4, 238, 446 all time cases, 129, 522 deaths, while 3, 657, 701 others have overcome the pandemic, leaving Brazil with 451, 223 active cases of Coronavirus(40, 557 new cases).

Russia, 4th in the league has documented 1, 048, 257 confirmed cases, 18, 309 patients have died while 865, 646 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Russia with 164, 302 active cases of Coronavirus, followed by Peru with 710, 067 all time cases, 30, 344 deaths and 544, 745 recoveries, leaving Peru with 134, 978 active cases of Coronavirus(7,291 new cases), followed by Colombia which has reported 694, 664 confirmed cases, 22, 275 patients have passed on while 569, 479 others have been discharged, leaving Colombia with 102, 910 active cases of the pandemic(7, 813 new cases).
Mexico now sits in the 7th place with 652, 364 confirmed cases, 69, 649 deaths, while 541, 804 patients have overcome the pandemic, leaving Mexico with 40, 911 patients down with Coronavirus(5,043 new cases), followed by South Africa, which has recorded 644, 438 cases, 15, 265 deaths and 573, 003 recoveries, leaving South Africa with 56, 170 Coronavirus patients, followed by Spain with 566, 326 all time cases, 29, 747 patients have been killed by the pandemic, while 150, 376 others have been discharged, leaving Spain with 386, 203 active cases of the pandemic(12, 183 new cases).
Argentina still remains in number 10 with 524,198 confirmed cases, 10,994 people afflicted by the pandemic have died while, 400, 121 others have recovered, leaving Argentina with 113, 083 active cases of Coronavirus(11, 905 new cases), followed by Chile with 430, 535 all time cases of the pandemic, 11, 850 deaths and 403, 064 recoveries, leaving Chile with 15, 621 patients in need of medical attention to keep living and France which has documented 401, 794 cases of Coronavirus over time, 30, 899 patients have been killed by the pandemic, while 89, 823 others have been discharged, leaving France with 281, 072 active cases of Coronavirus(9, 613 new cases).
Iran is presently 13 in the league of nations worst hit by the pandemic, reporting 397, 801 all time cases, 22, 913 patients are no more, while 342, 539 others have been able to survive the pandemic, leaving Iran with 32, 349 patients to treat for Coronavirus and then the United Kingdom, which has documented 364, 085 cases over time, 41, 703 patients have passed on, while only 1, 847 patients have been able to make it alive since the first case was reported, leaving the United Kingdom with 320, 535 active cases of Coronavirus(3, 551 new cases), followed by Italy in number 19 with 284, 796 confirmed cases, 35, 597 patients have died, while 212,432 patients have been given clean bill of health, leaving Italy with 36, 767 Coronavirus patients to manage(1, 616 new cases), followed by China which has been pushed down to the 37th spot among nations worst hit by the pandemic.
China has reported 90, 139 all time cases, 4, 733 deaths, while 85, 021 others have recovered, leaving China with 385 Coronavirus patients to attend to.
