LAGOS, Nigeria – Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 156 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number in the country to 54,743.
But out of the 54,743 confirmed cases, 42,816 patients have been discharged, while 1,051 others could not make it alive, leaving Nigeria with 10, 876 active cases of Coronavirus.
Breakdown of the new cases is as follows, Lagos-36 FCT-35, Oyo-29, Kaduna-10, Abia-9, Osun-5, Ogun-5, Enugu-5, Rivers-4, Nasarawa-3, Ekiti-3, Imo-3, Edo-2, Kwara-2, Katsina-2, Plateau-2 and Niger-1, making a total of 156 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.

There are currently 26,437, 886 confirmed cases of Coronavirus globally, 871, 205 deaths, while 17, 573, 533 patients have overcome the pandemic, the Centre for Systems Science and Engineering, Johns Hopkins University, has said.
According to the centre, the United States remains the most affected, reporting 6, 191, 294 confirmed cases, 187, 464 deaths, while 2, 266, 957 patients have recovered, leaving the United States with 3, 736, 873 active cases of Coronavirus(49, 714 new cases), followed by Brazil which has crossed the 4 million mark. Specifically, Brazil currently has 4, 041, 638 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 124, 614 deaths, while 3, 429, 435 others have recovered, leaving Brazil with 487, 589 active cases of the pandemic(43, 773 new cases), followed by India with 3, 936, 747 all time cases, 68, 472 deaths, while 3, 037, 151 others have been discharged, leaving India with 831, 124 current cases of Coronavirus(83, 341 new cases).
Russia, the 4th most afflicted country has reported 1, 011, 987 all time cases, 17, 598 deaths and 830, 532 recoveries, leaving Russia with 163, 857 active cases of the pandemic, followed by Peru, which has documented 670, 145 confirmed cases, 29, 405 deaths, while 489, 886 others have been discharged, leaving Peru with 150, 854 Coronavirus patients(13, 016 new cases), followed by Colombia(6th) which has reported 641, 574 confirmed cases, 20, 618 deaths and 489, 151 recoveries, leaving Colombia with 131, 805 active cases of Coronavirus(8,235 new cases).
South Africa has been pushed to the 7th spot in the league of most affected countries, reporting 635, 078 confirmed cases, 14, 678 deaths, while 557, 818 patients have overcome the pandemic, leaving South Africa with 62, 582 active cases of Coronavirus(2,063 new cases), followed by Mexico with 616, 894 all time cases, 66, 329 deaths, while 510, 626 patients have been given clean bill of health, leaving Mexico with 39, 939 active cases of Coronavirus(5, 937 new cases), followed by Spain with 498, 989 all time cases of the pandemic, 29, 418 deaths, while 150, 376 patients have been discharged, leaving Spain with 319, 195 patients in need of medical attention(10, 476 new cases).
Argentina currently occupies number 10 in the league of most afflicted countries with 451, 198 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 9, 468 deaths, while 331, 621 others have been cured, leaving Argentina with 110, 109 active cases of Coronavirus (12, 026 new cases), followed by Chile with 418,469 all time cases of the pandemic, 11, 494 deaths, while 391,248 others have been given clean bill of health, leaving Chile with 15, 727 active cases of the virus(1, 968 new cases), followed by Iran with 382, 772 confirmed cases of Coronavirus, 22, 044 deaths and 330, 308 recoveries , leaving Iran with 30, 420 active cases of the pandemic(2, 026 new cases) .
France has been pushed to 13th spot in the league of most affected countries with 347, 195 confirmed cases, 30, 730 deaths, while 87, 903 patients are now healthy, leaving France with 228, 562 active cases of Coronavirus(8, 978 new cases), followed by the United Kingdom with 344, 655 all time cases, 41, 626 deaths, while only 1, 752 patients have been assisted to recovery, leaving the U.K with 301, 277 Coronavirus patients, (1, 971 new cases) followed by Italy(19) with 274,644 all time cases, 35, 518 deaths and 209,027 recoveries, leaving Italy with 30, 099 active cases of Coronavirus(1, 732 new cases) and then China where the pandemic was first reported.
China now pushed to the 35th spot in the league has documented 89, 999 confirmed cases, 4, 728 deaths while 84, 737 others have survived the pandemic, leaving China with 534 Coronavirus cases to deal with .
