WINDHOEK, Namibia – The Namibian government has expressed concern about the health of Namibians as 60 health workers test positive to Coronavirus, #COVID19NAM .
President Hage Geingob who made the revelation on the social media said he is worried as health workers have continued to be at the receiving end of the pandemic.
He confirmed that there are now confirmed cases in all 14 regions across the country.
“We are updating our models and projections to track the reality on the ground versus expectations. We must take informed decisions to safeguard both lives and livelihoods. #COVID19NAM”, he said.
President Hage Geingob added that with the increased testing capacities commissioned last week in three places, Windhoek, Walvis Bay and Oshakati, Nambia is now able to detect the cases quickly.
“Presidency @hagegeingob: I am especially concerned about the number of healthcare workers who are becoming infected. There are at least 60 healthcare workers who have already been infected. #COVID19NAM
